Chapter 22

"Oi!Watch it!"

Olivia and Leo had grabbed the arms of their friend and was currently pulling him along towards Dylan's car.

"Step on it!"

"Guys,what the hell?Where are we going?"

Leo,who was sitting beside Mateo,sighed.He felt that it was kind of his fault,maybe if he didn't invited Ina to join him,if only he could warn Ina about Mateo.If only,if only..

"Where are we going?"Mateo asked again,this time more cautiously.

"We are going somewhere,now can you please shut up?" Olivia snapped

Mateo raised an eyebrow, "Damn,what crawled up your ass and died,livvy?"

"Your arrogance,Teo.And also your rudeness.To which both has caused me having another friend.....who is a girl."

The four friends kept quiet for the entire journey.Dylan had agreed to this plan only because of Olivia.He knew how difficult for Olivia to gain friends,especially girl-friends.Olivia had been so caught up with the series and school that she didn't have anytime to make new friends.He could tell how excited she was when Leo said a new friend of his would be coming to join them.But then,Teo just had to ruin it.He just had to 'keep up a reputation.' Dylan glanced his friends through the review mirror.Hopefully they'll solve this soon.

Olivia tried to relax and tried to think of happy,cute things. 'Puppy,kittens,rainbow,meeting old friends,making new ones,killing Mateo for chasing Ina away.' Olivia felt her eyes prickling with salty tears.Why?Why did Teo had to chase her away?He knew.He knew how difficult it was for her to make new friends.He just had to keep up his reputation.A rep of what? Being a bully? Oh hold on,she felt a tear slide down her cheek.Quickly wiping it away,she made up her mind to give him a piece of her mind.

Mateo shifted in his seat.He could feel Dylan's intense stare,he could see,in the corner of his eyes,Livvy wiping a tear.He could hear Leo sighing non-stop.The guilt in his chest began to grow.He knew how Livvy felt about this.But it was for her own good, after what she did.Have they really forgotten?What it was like?Mateo saw how excited Livvy was,and he saw how it would end up.Like how it did the last time.He couldn't let that happen again.He had to stop it,he kinda didn't care what the others thought.Besides they would think he was protecting them,especially Livvy.....right? Mateo shook his head,getting rid of the thought.Of course they would,they knew him well enough,what else would they think of?

"We're here." Dylan said softly,breaking the silence.

Mateo got out of the car and looked around.There was a diner that looked kind of.....old.In a good kind of old,not in a bad way.

"C'mon guys,I'm starving." Dylan said,leading them towards the diner.

"So......you guys bought me here to...?"

"To talk about what happened." Leo said

"What did happened,Teo?" Livvy asked with a slight desperation in her voice.

"Yea,man why did you have to do that?" Dylan asked

"With what? I don't understand.Can you guys be,oh I don't know.....more specific?" His voice filling with sarcasm.

Olivia rolled her eyes and slammed her hands on the table. "About Ina! What happened?Why did you say all those things you said to her?"

Mateo opened his mouth to say something but someone beat him to it.

"Hello there,is everything okay here?"

A light blinded the four teens.Looking up slowly,Mateo began to blink a couple of times.In front of them was a waitress with a notepad.She was smiling,but her eyes seemed to give a warning.Leo was the first to snap out from staring at her blinding-pearly-white-teeth.

"Yea,we're okay.Sorry for the inconvience,ma'am."

"Okie-dokie.You kids ready to order?"

"Yea sure....can we have um..four strawberry milkshakes and four burgers please? Thank you....ms.. uh.." Leo glanced up at the name tag pinned at the waitress' uniform, "...Rosie."

"Sure thing,sweetie.Now don't be too loud alright?The chef's a bit grumpy today."

They watched as the waitress skip away from their table before slowly turning to each other.

"Where were we?Oh yeah,Ina."

"You see guys....." Mateo started, "I don't hate on Ina...it's just that..."

"You want to keep up your reputation?"

"You want to be single and mingle forever?"

"You hate girls?"

The suggestions kept coming at Mateo and he felt kind of amused and dissapointed.Maybe they didn't know him well enough.

"You're gay?" Rosie asked.She had just arrived to find them shooting random suggestions and had joined in.

"Ye- Wait what?! No! No way man."

"You almost agreed." Said Olivia smugly

"Har-har-har.Very funny Liv.But no,I'm one hundred percent straight...well at least I think so."

"Then what is it?" Leo asked

"I don't hate her...I just...." Mateo stopped and sipped on his shake. "Delicious,thanks rosie."

"Get on with it!"

"Don't you guys remember what happened?To Livvy?"

"Yea...I remember.But that's in the past, Teo." Dylan spoke up

"Me too...I mean what she did to Livvy..But I've forgiven her, and even Livvy here already did too."

"Yea,Teo," Olivia grabbed her friend's hands.  "I already have forgiven her too.It was partly my fault."

"Well I haven't." Teo said,snatching his hands away.

"Are you scared what happened....will happen again,Teo?"

"Obviously." Mateo snapped.

"Wait,hold up,what did happened?" Rosie interrupted

Dylan turned and told her a brief tale.

"Woah that has got to hurt,man.But your friends are right,Teo..The past is in the past."

Mateo sighed and gulp down his milkshake.Maybe they were right.The past is in the past.Why couldn't he accept that?He should just forgive and forget.And anyways,Olivia has forgiven her.If she could,why couldn't he?

"You guys are right.....maybe I should forgive her.I mean... I don't wanna do this to do this hate thing anymore."

"Damn right,we are!" Smiled Rosie.

"Hey um Liv? I'm sorry for scaring Ina away,man." Mateo gave Olivia a sheepish smile

"It's okay,Teo.You just have to bring her back to me again."

"Roger that!" Mateo saluted.

"Okay,enough of this sentimental B.S. I have a new karaoke set.You guys wanna try it?" Rosie asked,wiggling her eyebrows.

The friends looked at each other."Why not?"

"Before that....group hug!"
