Chapter 14

The next day,Ina was looking for a friend to accompany her.Almost suddenly after school,she went to ask either one of her friends to accompany her.

"Sorry love,I gotta babysit my cousin today..!"Hayley said,waving to the group

"No can do hun,"said Laila"I got to practise for my football tournment in about..30 minutes.."

Ariel shook her head."I got an art competition..which start..uhmm..in 2 minutes!Oh gosh,I'm gonna be late!Wish me luck guys!"

Her friends wished her the best of luck and laughed when Ariel almost tripped as she was running down the hallway.

"Alexxx?"

"Yeeaaa?"

"Do you want to accompany me?"

"Hmm...I don't know..should I?"He asked teasingly,tapping his index finger on his chin for effect.

"Pwweaase?"Ina said,making her most saddest puppy dog face she could manage.

"Woaahh girl!No need for that!Sure I'd love to.."

Ina cheered and with a quick hug to Laila,she dragged Alex towards the fast food restaurant,not wanting to be late.

"How do I look?"Ina asked a couple of minutes later.She pulled at her shirt,trying to make it look as less wrinkly as possible.

"You look fine,now c'mon!"Alex pulled her inside,anxious to meet Leo in person.

"Ina!Over here!"

An all-too-fimiliar brown hair-ed guy waved to her.Ina glanced up to Alex who gently pushed her forward.As they walked over towards the table,Ina looked around the people seating at Leo's table.Her eyes settled on a guy,his grey beanie covering his black hair.The guy,not noticing Ina and Alex coming over,was texting someone on his phone.'Why does he look fimiliar?'

"Hey Ina..I see you bought a friend."

"I'm Alex her guy best friend,nice to meet you."Alex offered his hand,and Leo took it

"I'm Leo her..new friend,I guess.And it's a pleasure."

They took a seat down,with Alex,Ina and a blonde on one side and the black hair-ed guy,Leo and a red hair-ed guy on the other.

"It's nice to see that Ina made a friend.She's shy you see.."Alex said

"I can see that."Leo grinned down to Ina who had turned a bright shade of pink.

"Ahem."Coughed the blonde sitting next to Ina

"What?"Leo asked

"Ugh.. since you are not going to introduce us to them...I'm Olivia..but you can call me Liv."

"Dylan,I don't have a nickname so..yea.."The red hair-ed piped.

"And I'm Mateo,just call me Teo."The beanie guy said not looking up.

Ina glanced over to Alex who had looked down on her.She controlled her breathing and smiled nervously at Dylan and Olivia.

"I..Uh..Nice m-meeting you all.."She blushed.

"You don't need to be nervous.You don't have to."Olivia smiled.

"You have to excuse her stammering happens every once in a while..Like I said,she is a shy girl."Alex apologize

Dylan waved it off with a smile.

"Alright,enough chit chatting!Ina,follow me!"

Leo got up from the table and walked towards the cashier.He ordered a couple of food but payed half the price.

"The other half is yours to pay."Leo winked at Ina and walked away.

Ina payed the price,took the food and walked toward the table.As she neared,she could hear the loud chatter and laughter.She smiled softly and placed the food on the table.

"Here you go."

'Thank you's' were given to Ina and Leo.They said their welcomes and continued their previous conversation.Both Ina and Mateo somehow had managed to avoid each other gazes and eye contact.Leo bought the topic of their two new found friends.

"What do you guys think about our new friends eh?Let's start with Livvy."

"Alex's awesome and funny."Olivia said

Mateo only nodded in agreement while Dylan had describe him as 'hilarious and well-built'.Alex laughed and told the story about how people said he looked like the guy from twilight.

"And what about Ina?"Leo asked

"She's shy and adorable..I always wanted an adorable friend!"Dylan said,smiling

"If I were a guy,I'd probably be dating her.Maybe Teo should."Olivia said.

Mateo scoffed and looked at Ina up and down."Her?"He scoffed again and played with his phone

"What's wrong with her?"Leo asked "If I were single,I'd date her."

"What's wrong with her?C'mon dude look at her.."

The group had suddenly stopped their fun and games as they looked at Ina.She shifted in her seat uncomfortably,not wanting the sudden attention.

"And..?"Olivia asked

Mateo sighed and rolled his eyes."Well first of all,look at her hair.It's all messy and not neat at all.Now look at her glasses,damn,those things are huge!Why can't you get lenses like everyone else?"

Ina felt her eyes slowly filing with tears.

"And plus,she has no fashion sense.At all.An all t-shirt and jeans?That's all?C'mon you are a girl,for heaven's sake!Wear a skirt or a dress or something!No...you just had to wear..that.."

A tear slowly rolled down her left cheek.

"And her face.My god.Don't you ever wear make-up?Damn.Wear something to cover your face up.If not make-up..wear a paper bag or something.At least then the world would be a less uglier place.Man,if I were her boyfriend.."He scoffed again.."I'd be embarassed.."

That was all it took.Tears immediately came pouring out of her eyes.Olivia glared at Mateo,who had payed attention to his phone.Dylan and Leo looked at Alex then to Ina then to Alex.Alex was angry.No,no...he was fumming.He started to breathe heavily and his face was turning red.Leo and Dylan scrambled from their seats and rushed to get Alex out of there.

Olivia raised her arms to comfort Ina but she winced away.Ina opened her mouth but couldn't get it out.She wrote something on a piece of paper,crumpled it up and threw it to Mateo who ignored it.She got up walked away,with every step her heart crumbling into tiny pieces.
