Chapter 27

Third person's POV

"You sure about this, Alex...?"

"Of course, after what he has done to her, you think imma let that boy off easily?"

"....Yup, should've known."

Ariel adjusted her blonde 0.99¢ wig and slowly put on her square glasses which covered half her face. She took the walkie talkie and hid it in her small, pink bag.

"Ugh this thing itches!" Manny scratched his arms and head. He too, was given a blonde wig and skin-toned gloves to cover up his arm tattoos. "Remind me why I'm involved in this again?"

Alex sighed and said, " They might go somewhere where all couples go and it might look suspicious if Ariel goes alone. I can't go 'cause no matter how much I disguise myself, Ina will know it's me and will find out our plan."

Manny groaned and nodded his head. He wasn't going to interrogate this muscle-y man any longer. He couldn't understand why the big guy didn't trust his friends. As Alex and Ariel began to go through their plans one last time, Manny began to space out and thought how he got into this mess.

The doors to the MirShal cafe burst opened and a particular blonde stormed in.

"You," she pointed towards a barista

"M-me?"

"Where is he?" She demanded

"I ... I don't know w-who you're t-talking about."

Laila growled and clenched her fist so hard they turned white.She slowly relaxed and sighed at the thought of what she had to do.She picked the guy up by his collars and leaned in. The guy gulped before screwing his eyes shut and mentally preparing himself for anything that's bound to happen. Laila could feel his breath on her lips now. Just a few more inches ....

"Woah there, Johnnycake! I didn't know you were into her like that..."

Laila smirked before dropping Johnny onto the ground. She knew he would come out if she did that. Poor Johnny. He's all pale and looking so shaken up. He scurried off the floor and out of the cafe. Manny sighed and shook his head at Laila.

"Look what you've done, Lay. He just started to work here too."

"Well how else am I going to find you? And besides if you weren't late this wouldn't have had happened."

"Oh, righttt... see I kinda forgot but I sure got a good ass reason why...." He chuckled nervously.

"Mannyyyyy!!" Ariel sang, prancing into the almost empty cafe and jumping into two tattooed-covered arms. "You're late." She pouted, clinging onto his neck.

"Sorry babe,but I promise I had an important reason."

They both shared a look for a moment before Ariel nodded grimly before looking around. "Where's Johnnycake?"

"Scared 'im off, she did." Manny pointed accusingly to Laila.

"Me? Scaring off a boy? Never!" Laila placed her hand on her left chest and gasp dramatically. Ariel giggled and dragged her friends out of the cafe.

Both girls had promised to award him with something if he promised to help out, and he couldn't wait to see what it was.

The next few hours were consisted in them following Laila, her friend, Ina and Mateo.

The ones on the actual date had just went out to eat ice-cream and waffles in a expensive place and to watch a movie... in a deluxe setting, consisting of wine,chocolates,candy,sofa and personal golden cup holders.Ina had been very, very shy at first, not knowing what to do as it was her first time on dates, but with a comfortable outfit picked by Hayley and a prep talk by Ariel and Laila, she was good to go.

Meanwhile, Manny and Ariel were hiding in bushes and alleyways. They had came in the restaurant by pretending to be a duchess and a prince. Every 5 minutes, Ariel had checked in to let Alex know what was going on. Laila helped by telling them what was happening in the private movie theater.

So far, Mateo had his hands to himself.

But by the time twilight arrived and Laila and her date had left them alone, Mateo had raised his confidence to a whole another level..

Ina's POV

Mateo was walking me home.Alone. Laila had gone home with her date. Speaking of which, today's date was nice. Teo bought me - well us - to a expensive restaurant which was just for ice cream and waffles. And bought us tickets to a private deluxe movie theater which had a bartender, chocolates, wine and golden cup holders.

At the restaurant though, a duchess and a prince came in! They were a really good-looking couple. They chatted with us for a bit, told Teo that they looked the show he was in.

"So darlin'...."

"Hmm?" I looked at him, the setting sun reflecting on his cheekbones.

"What was your first kiss like?"

"I uh... I never been kissed before." I mumbled shyly.

Teo saw my flaming red cheeks and smiled softly down on me. "No need to be embarrassed."

We had just arrived at front fence outside my house. I walked past the silver fence and closed it. He leaned on the fence and it slightly tilted under his body pressure.

"So...."

"So...." I shifted from foot to foot. What I am supposed to do now?

"Nice house you got here. Cute, even but..."

"But...?" Uh-oh..

"I thought you didn't own any dogs?" He pointed towards my house and furrowed his eyebrows slightly.

My eyes widen and I quickly turn my head around, but there was nothing there.I turn my head around again, slowly this time and found he was inches from my face.I quickly gasp and blushed furiously while taking a step back. He seem to notice this and smirked. Mateo quickly pushed the fence door open and opened his arms.

I hesitated for moment before stepping into them. We stayed that way for a moment, with my head on his shoulder and my arms around his torso. His head resting on my head and his arms around me. After he finally loosen his grip on me, he held me at arms' length, looking into my eyes.

He leaned in and I closed my eyes, like how they did in movies. I could feel the breath of his on my lips before feeling a soft peck on my right cheek. Suddenly the warm embrace that held me a moment ago was gone and I quickly opened my eyes, blinking a few times. He had let me go and shut the fence, with his face slightly red.

Wait, what?

Is Mateo....blushing?

He quickly turn around and started to speed walk down the road that we just came from. I stared at the walking figure until I could no longer see it, my fingers slowly coming up to my flaming right cheek, remembering the soft lips...
