"I scored the victory point for you and you weren't there to see it, Jennie. Where were you?" Kai pushes me against the lockers in the men's locker room and supports a hand on either side of my body.
"I was solving some problems." I cross my arms and watch my nails.
"Like what?" he approaches me.
"It's not in your interest." I say irritated and he's staring at me. "What's yours..." he kisses me and it takes me a very few seconds to push him "ARE YOU CRAZY, JONGIN?" I rub my hand against my mouth, feeling my stomach twist in disgust.
"Jen, I like when you decide to play hard like that." he laughs, lying on the floor and gets up slowly.
"Never kiss me again without my permission, Jongin!" I say breathless with fright.
"Okay, you're right, it was stupid of me, but I miss when we were dating." he sighs and caresses my cheek.
"It's not what it looks like." I turn my face and hear him sigh again. I see him open his closet and pick up two neatly wrapped paper bags.
"I thought you'd like it." he looks suddenly shy. "These are some of the chocolates you like. In the other bag, it's a necklace I saw and it wouldn't look better on anyone but you." He gives a soft smile as I take the necklace.
"Woah, it's really beautiful." I smile with satisfaction, it had been a while since this idiot presented me with anything.
"Can I?" he says softly and I turn my back to him, holding my hair. "You know, Jen, I don't deserve someone as wonderful as you, but I'm selfish and I miss you so much. I miss waking up next to you and seeing your beautiful face, so angelic and making my heart beat faster. My nights aren't the same since we're taking a break."
"Kai..."
"I'm serious." I feel his breath hit the back of my neck and close my eyes "It sucks to be without you, Jen. You're the best girlfriend in the world and I should never have been so stupid with you. I regret it every day." He gives me a backhug and distributes kisses on my neck.
"Kai." I say softly and take a deep breath "Don't do that." I move away from him.
"The dance will be in less than 10 days, we'll go together, right?"
"Why are you thinking that?"
"We're going to be the king and queen of the prom, Jen. Everyone shouting your name and making clear how much they love you and I want to be there to support you." He wraps his arms around my waist. "I want to dance with you, do all these romantic things to demonstrate my love for the most amazing girl in this school."Before I answer, the bell rings, indicating that it's time for lunch.
"I have to go, the girls are waiting for me." I leave the locker room with a strange feeling and decide to just ignore it. When I get to the cafeteria, I see that the nerds are at my table and my heart quickens just seeing Sehun next to Jisoo, making her laugh. "What's going on here?" I say irritably, drawing everyone's eyes from the table to me.
"Jen, the next time you're late, remember to fix your lipstick." Irene laughs and I see Chaesoo looking at me with a questioning look. "You and Kai are close to coming back, I see."
"Shut up, Bae." I sit across from Jisoo who's now looking at Sehun.
"You should go to the dance with me." Sehun approaches Jisoo, who laughs and pushes him with her shoulder.
"There are already many girls wanting your invitation, I'll not waste it." She shrugs.
"Sooya, give me a chance, I'm not asking you for anything too much." He pouts and she rolls her eyes. I realize that I'm squeezing the edge of the table so tightly that my knuckles are white and Rosé nudges me.
"Are you seeing me? I'm not the type to go to dances." she rolls her eyes again and throws a cookie in her mouth.
"It's good to get out of your comfort zone, besides, I think you would look amazing in one of those dresses. I would do anything to see you like this." Sehun lowers his tone and Jisoo seems to enjoy the situation, making me more irritated.
"Anything?" she smiles and gets closer to him. I feel Rosé's hand on my arm, but I don't care.
"So, what are you talking about?" Kai's voice catches the attention of Sehun and Jisoo, who turns to look at him, but her eyebrows furrow in confusion until shes staring at me and there's a lot of anger in her eyes.
"About the dance." Sehun smiles. "You ate a lot of ketchup or that in your mouth is lipstick of our dear Nini." he starts to laugh.
"What did you say, Jen?" Irene says too and I can only feel despair while I see Jisoo start to get furious.
"I told you to shut up." I turn to Irene who's laughing and when I look back at Jisoo, the poker expression is on her face and she talks softly with Sehun until the end of lunch.
The rest of the day seems to drag on slowly. I'm freaking out for not speaking to Jisoo yet. She'll confuse everything and be mad at me.
When the end of the last class finally comes, I run out of the room and go to my closet to get my things, but when I open it, there's a white envelope.
"To: Jennie Bitch Kim
Does the most popular slut at school have two pets?
Enjoy it, while you can."
There are some pictures of me with Jisoo, making me stop breathing and put them quickly in the envelope.
I look around, but luckily, no one is paying attention to me. I release the air I was holding and support my hand under my chest. I need to fix everything soon, before ruins me.
