From the deadly look Jennie's giving me, something tells me that she'll be able to come here and kill me, Soojoo and whoever else is around.
After promising things I don't even remember, for Soojoo, I manage to make her go away and now I'm waiting for Jennie's getting ready to leave. I finish putting on the orange sweatshirt and lie down on the bench to play on my phone.
Jennie's scent invades the space a few minutes later, and I sit down to watch her watching me with an unfriendly look.
"Jendeukie, come on, we have some things to do."
"Hang out with Hong?" she passes me and I try to take her hand, but she manages to slide her fingers between mine and escape. "I'll wait for you outside." she says irritated and I sigh.
We walked side by side, in terrible silence. I look at the sky and see that it's starred, good, at least mother nature is helping me.
"Where are we going?" she says after she sees that we aren't going to any of our homes.
"You'll see." I say without looking at her as we go up a hill farther from the city.
"This is where you'll kill me, right?" She settles on the bench and I start to laugh.
"Yes, you guessed all my plans." I feel her watching me as I park the car in the grassy part. I pick up the two blankets and pillows to organize everything on the floor. "Come on, I'm hungry" I grab the basket from the backseat and place it in the middle of the newly organized space.
"What's all this?" Jennie stops, while I lie down next to the basket and support an arm under my head.
"Evening picnic for me to decide something." I shrug and grab a sandwich.
"What do you mean?" she turns around and sits down next to me.
"What's more beautiful."
"What are you talking about?" she opens the basket with curiosity, making me smile when watching her looking for what to eat.
"The starry sky, the illuminated city or your eyes." I say as soon as I finish chewing "I don't know which of the three is the most beautiful and passionate." I sigh and look at the sky.
"You always know how to embarrass me." she says and my smile gets bigger when I see her chewing. Her cheeks were so cute and huge that I would bite her right now.
"I'm not to blame if you're ashamed whenever I'm being sincere." She laughs and shakes her head in denial.
After she finishes eating, she lies down next to me, resting her head on my arm and throwing her leg over mine, hugging me. I drum my fingers on her waist and she snuggles closer to me.
"Have you decided?" She says quietly, diverting my attention from the bright sky above us.
"What?" I frown, pretending to think "Oh, yeah, I thought."
"And what conclusion did you come to?"
"Do you wanna date me?" Her eyes widen when her brain seems to process what I just said. "If you don't want to, that's fine, I understand that you're not ready to leave the closet yet, but I want you to know that when you decide and you're ready, I'll be there to support you." I smile softly and she frowns.
"Yes" she says, and now I'm confused.
"Jendeukie, I don't want to pressure you. I just need you to understand that you're something that I take very seriously and..." She puts her hand on the back of my neck and kisses me. Lips soft as velvet and so soft in sync with mine, sending little shocks through my body and mind.
"I want, I always wanted since the day I kissed you in that hotel room." she whispers breathlessly and slides her nose into mine. "Even if I didn't assume, not even for myself, I wanted to be with you." my heart melts when I hear her speak that way.
"Do you believe me when I say that I'll be with you in any situation? Good and bad? Especially in bad times, when you need support the most, I'll be there with you." I take a lock of her hair that insists on escaping from behind her ear.
"All the doubts and fears that I have, disappear when I look at you, especially your eyes. You make me feel so safe and sure that I'm invincible." she seals our lips quickly.
"Who said you're not?" I smile and place my hand on her cheek, sliding my thumb gently. "You can do what you want and nobody can stop you, Jennie, you were born to shine."
"You're also invincible, you're the strongest person I have ever met and that day you told my mother everything, nobody ever protected me and took care of me that way." she says in a choked voice.
"I just told the truth about you, I could have said more, but it would end up revealing that I'm in love with you, so I don't think it would be ideal, right?" I let out a low laugh, making her laugh too. "But you're wrong about me being invincible, I'm not."
"No? How can you not?"
"In the past, I used to be, but then..." I take a deep breath and stare at her as intensely as I can "Then you got in my way. I thought it was just sex, I really considered it, until I realized that I was in love with you. You have become the greatest means of shaking me or weakening me, Jennie."
"Me?" Her voice comes out in a whisper so softly and her eyes are so watery.
"I care about you all the time, from the smallest to the biggest things. Everything related to you affects me in some way and you have no idea of the power you have over me" I wipe the tear that runs down her cheek "I was never as sincere as now, in all my life, so when I say that I'll be with you, that's what I'll do, until you don't want me anymore."
"Whenever I think you've invaded all the spaces in my heart, you end up surprising me and making me discover places that I didn't even know existed, but that you're there." she says through tears.
"Sorry for making you cry, I didn't want to." I sigh as I wipe her tears "Your happiness is above anything, nothing is important to me, except to see a smile in my mandu." She laughs and gives me a light slap on the chest. "Exactly! You got my point."
"You're the stupidest girlfriend ever!" she smiles and I keep watching that gummy smile so beautiful.
"Yes, but I'm all yours and you'll have to get used to it." I show my tongue and she laughs louder.
"I couldn't have asked for anything better, Chu." She hugs me tightly, putting her face on my neck and I hold her close to me, closing my eyes and feeling our hearts beating so fast and hard against each other's chest.
