It's Friday, the day I've been dreading. Homecoming is today. I still don't know if I should go or not. It's a tough decision to make.

Word spread about Tomas and my fight yesterday. When I enter the school, kids give me disgusted looks, and gossip about me. I slowly duck my head away from their prying eyes, and head to my locker.

I spin the combo to retrieve my books, and a note flutters down.

It reads:

Mia I'm sorry. I know what I did was wrong. I love you okay? Please let me explain this mess. Meet me under the disco ball at homecoming, at eleven sharp. I love you. -Tomas

My breath gets caught up in my throat, and tears start to come down, again. I push my hair down so my it covers my face, and I duck my head down so nobody sees me crying. I slowly walk to class in the crowded hallways.

First period- calculus, but it's with Tomas. I slowly make my way to the middle of the classroom, so I don't have to face Tomas. I can feel eyes burning on my back, I can hear whispers coming from every direction, and I can feel more tears rolling down my cheeks spotting my books.

I hear a loud thump beside me and I turn to look up. Oh my God.

It's Tomas.

I see he doesn't know he is sitting next to me, yet.

I try to pull my hoodie over my head, but it's too late.

His eyes find mine, and he starts to talk.

"Mia, please listen to me. I have a explanation, just listen to me. Please just lis-" I cut him off.

"No Tomas, I won't listen to you. You have to listen to me. You're the person who messed up not me. So leave me alone." I get up and head to another desk.

I can feel tears stinging at the back of my eyes, but I'm not willing to let them fall for him.

He's not worth it.

He's not worth it. I repeat to myself.

Definitely not worth it.

The bell rings signaling for class to start.

Mr. Jones comes in, and starts to call for attendance.

"Kathy?"

"Here."

"Blake?"

"Here."

"Tomas?"

My throat tenses.

"Here."

"Justin?."

"Here."

"Mackenzie?"

"Here."

"Mia?"

"Here." I can feel eyes burning a hole in to my back. I gulp. No one notices, and I run my hand through my long brown hair.

Mr. Jones keeps on going with the attendance.

"You know I'm never letting you get away with this, right?" A voice tells me.

I turn to my right and I see Tomas. I can feel my cheeks heating up, my palms beginning to feel sweaty, and my lips becoming dry. I try to rub the sweat off my hands on my jeans, but it feels like there is ever lasting sweat pouring from my finger tips.

I lick my lips, put my hands together and begin to talk.

"Tomas, I'm sorry, for hurting you, but I'm also not sorry for you hurting me. I'm not okay with it, and if you think a well prepared speech is going to win me back, think again. Because I'm looking for someone who actually truly cares about me, and will be there for me. I'm sorry for being your back up, or your second choice, but I can't go back. You're not worth it. Anymore." I say, feeling like a huge amount of weight has been lifted off my chest.

I see Tomas' jaw tighten but then relaxes. I see his eyes wondering into mine, look as desperate as ever. Beads of sweat begin to form on his forehead. After what seems like an hour he replies.

"I'm so sorry Mia. I didn't mean to hurt you. I truly am. I am completely sincere about this. I'm sorry." He beings to mess with his fingers, closing them, then breaking them apart, over and over again.

"Sorry Tomas, but you hurt me. There are no second chances in life." I say ever so quietly.

He looks at me with a pleading expression, making it hard for me to stay angry at him.

"But you're are still going to meet me under the disco ball at 11:00 sharp right? Because I have a ton of explaining to do." He says anxiously.

"I don't know if I'll go or not." I say wanting this conversation to be done.

"Please come, I'm begging you. Please." He begs me.

"I don't know." I say.

He is about to say something but the bell rings, saves me from the conversation.

I quickly bolt through the door, hoping to get to World History, without out talking to Tomas.

"Mia!" I hear my name behind me.

I quickly whip around and see Tomas.

Why can't you freaking go away already? I think.

"Mia, please." He says while tugging on my arm.

"Please." I hear him geting desperate.

"Fine. What do you want?" I spit out, a little too harshly.

"I just wanted to tell you..."

"Tell me what Tomas? Huh?!?" I just want to get to class.

"I w-wanted t-to say.."

"Jump Tomas. Jump." I say getting annoyed.

"I w-wanted to s-say, that, I-"

I cut him off again.

"Tomas I don't have time for this." I say sharply, my heart dropping a bit from the guilt.

"I love you."

My heart sinks, a little lower.

He then turns quickly and walks the other way.

And I'm standing there still, with my mouth half open, while kids are rushing past me.
