7 years later
"Tomas where are you?" I whisper through the phone.
"Sorry Mia, you have to follow the signs and notes." And with that the line clicks dead.
I sigh with exasperation.
Tomas and I have been together for 8 years, and now I have finished college at the University Of Texas, and Tomas is doing his master's degree at the University Of Texas. We moved in together on the last year of college. Nothing changed between us. The sparks were still there, the love grew stronger and our relationship stayed strongly compacted.
After we had graduated from high school Tomas and I went to Hawaii by ourselves. We spent 2 weeks there, swimming with the fish in the reefs, looking out the window of the helicopter and just spending time with each other. Everything felt perfect. There was nothing that could pull us apart again.
I look at the note again.
Go to the place of where you met Cole when you came back to Texas.
So my house? But I'm already in my house. But I met him outside of my house, so it's probably my front door.
I quickly run down stairs to the door. I'm staying with my parents this weekend, because my parents wanted to spend time with their 'little daughter' even though I'm all grown up.
I open the door to find another note.
To where flowers bloom then bought.
Where flowers bloom? A field? But they're being bought? So it's a store. Then something in my mind clicks. There is a little cute shop a few blocks away that sells flowers.
I quickly think of the best way to get there. Running of course.
I speed down the pedestrian walk way, and while keeping an eye out for the flower shop.
I slowly come to a stop when I find the flower shop.
When I walk in to the store a little chime sounds when I walk through the door. The old lady behind the desk sees me and smiles.
"Are you Mia?" She asks.
"Yes m'am, that's me." I say politely.
"Well I have something for you." She slowly bends down begin the counter and pull out a pink rose with a piece of paper.
"I think there's a special boy waiting for you." She smiles.
I laugh lightly while taking the paper and rose.
I slowly open up the folded paper and read:
Go to the place where you can get jewelry, here's a hint: it has your middle name in it.
Jewelry store? Really?
Middle name? How does it know my middle name?
My middle name is Avery.
So the jewelry store must be James Avery.
I run to the mall where I know there is a James Avery store.
I see the door of the store and I quickly open them. I see a young lady standing next to the rings on display. I slowly walk towards.
"You're Mia, right?" She asks.
"Yes I am." I reply.
"Well in that case I have something for you." She pulls the glass door and retrieves a beautiful silver ring.
She hands me the ring with another piece of paper.
"Here you go. Let me just tell you, that boy of yours is a keeper, don't let him go." She says with a wink.
