When I get home, the house is deadly silent, there are only a few lights on and their is no sound of chatter at all. I slowly walk in to the kitchen to find my parents with boxes, many boxes.
Boxes?
"Uh mom? Dad? What's up?" I say casually. I hope they didn't find out that I cut class.
"Honey..." My mom begins.
"We're moving..." My dad finishes for my mom.
"Wait what? No no no no no! We can't go. No, we just moved here!" I yell.
"I'm sorry honey. But your dad's work has transferred him back to Texas." She leads me to the couch in the living room, where I find that some pictures have been taken down off the wall, and some furniture has disappeared.
"But why?" I whimper.
"I'm truly sorry sweetie. I know you are with Tomas, but we have to move." She says trying to calm me down.
"Why can't you guys move and leave me here." I ask knowing the answer already.
"Sweetie, we can't do that." My mom says.
"But why?" I say.
"Sorry honey but we have to. We wouldn't want your father to loose his job." She says taking my head and starts to pat my hair.
I cry into my mothers neck until my eyes become red and swollen.
"So when do we have to leave?" I ask after my tears have calmed down.
"We leave on Wednesday. So we have two days to pack and get going." Shes says.
"Why mom? Why can't we just stay in one spot?" I ask.
"Because honey, your father's job moves around the USA quite a bit, and we have to follow them if he wants to keep his job." Mother explained.
"How am I suppose to tell Tomas? We just go back together." I say quietly.
"Honey, you'll figure it out, you're a strong girl." She says soothingly.
"Okay." Was all I said.
I quickly ran upstairs to my room and locked my door.
We are moving. We are going away. We are going to Texas. I'm leaving. I'm leaving Tomas. I'm leaving Casper. I'm leaving everything.
I sob into my pillow, and just drain myself out. I have to tell Tomas.
I quickly dial in his cell number and it rings three times before he picks up.
"Helloooo Mia." He says.
I giggle a bit then remember what I have to tell him. And I become miserable once again.
"Tomas. We're moving." I say flatly in to the phone.
Silence.
"You're joking right Mia?" He says.
"No I'm not." I tell him.
"But you can't leave, we just got back together! I can't do that! You have to stay!" He yells in to the phone.
"I'm sorry Tomas, maybe that was the way it was suppose to be." I say calmly.
"But-"
"Tomas I'm sorry, but I have to go. I'm really sorry, this is for the best." I say.
He doesn't get the chance to say anything, so I hang up the phone.
I put down the phone and crash my head in to my nearest pillow.
Everything has gone wrong, everything is ruined.
My phone rings. And I let it. I can't talk to Tomas right now.
I just can't do this.
+++++++
Tomas' POV
When Mia called me, I was excited to talk to her. But now that she has told me she is leaving, I am heartbroken.
She must be lying. She wouldn't move right? She can't be moving. I don't believe it. It's not possible. So I call her back.
It rings and rings and rings.
She doesn't pick up.
I try again.
She doesn't pick up again.
If she doesn't pick up, it means that she's leaving soon. That this is hard for her.
I let out a frustrated groan and easily throw a pillow across the room. I then land back on to my back on the bed.
She can't be leaving. Right? We just got back together. I'll be damned if she does leave.
I wonder where she's moving. If she'll miss me. And most of all if she will find someone better than me.
My life is going to be screwed if she's gone. Jennifer will win. I'll loose Mia. And my life will be a disaster.
I remember when I first saw her.
It was the middle of the school year. I was walking back from Jennifer's house, and I saw a 'sold' sign in front of the house besides mine.
We've always had neighbors in that house but no one has really stayed there long.
So when I saw a car and a truck in front of the house I quickly walked to the front door.
I heard a yell then a groan and finally someone opened the door.
And of course it was Mia.
I remember how we looked at each other silently, just absorbing how we both looked.
I smirked a bit when I was running down her body. She was hot, that's all.
She had those beautiful green eyes, framed with long light brown hair. Her face a little red, and her clothes hugging her.
Dark skinny jeans, white Nike t-shirt and American flag converse.
She wasn't timid or shy. She seemed outgoing and fun.
And so when I finally said something, and she responded her voice came out very light. It almost seemed like she was an angel speaking to me. Her angelic voice filling the silence. It made my heart beat faster, my palms sweaty, my cheek redder and my legs wobble a bit.
As she said "Hello my name is Mia Thompson. I just moved here from Texas." I looked at her closely.
She wasn't a girl who covered her face in make up, but there was something about her that hit me about her. It's had something to do about her eyes.
They were green from far away. But if you looked closely you could see little specks of blue in them. They looked vibrant, like you wouldn't miss them in a crowd of people.
It's just hit me, I couldn't take my eyes away from hers.
And now she is moving.
I don't know what I'm going to do.
Forget a hickey, I want to mark my territory on her by giving her my last name.
I didn't know she would change me so much. My life changed. My personality changed. I've changed.
She changed me, I'm different.
And I don't know what I would do after she leaves.
Because I'll be broken.
