I'm halfway through my classes, when I bump into Jennifer in the hallway. Her hair is perfectly styled into a high ponytail, a flawless manicure, and her clothing, clinging to her body, showing off her shape.

She growls at me, giving me a dirty look. "Back off." She says in a piercing voice. "Back off of what?" I say innocently. "You know exactly who I'm talking about." She shoots back at me. I rack my mind, of what she could be talking about. Tomas maybe?

"I'm just enjoying my first day at school." I proclaim. "You're just acting like a new, little, innocent girl, but I know what you are. So stay away from Tomas." She snarls. I grimace. Wow, she thinks I'm hitting on her boyfriend? I think.

She turns her back away from me, and sashays the opposite way. Why does she care what I do? She doesn't even know me. Why must she be this difficult? I ponder. Ugh. I make my way to the cafeteria.

The lunch room is filled with chatter and students. I see Tomas up ahead, waving me to his table. I weave through the crowd of kids, and reach his table. At his table are two other girls and Mark. "Hey Mia, how was your first day?" Tomas asks. "Not bad. I can't really complain about anything." He beams at me. "These are my friends. This is Camy, Allison, and you already met Mark in class." They all say "hello" in sync. I smile at all of them. "I'm Mia Thompson. I just moved here from Texas." I say.

Camy is a redhead, with many freckles covering her face. She has light blue eyes taking up a large portion of her face. She's tall, and lanky, but it suits her. Camy loves astronomy, I also realized she was in my biology class too.

Allison has dark brown hair, with hazel colored eyes. She's short, but skinny. She seems to look at Tomas more then usual. Allison's clothes are perfectly chosen to match, her hair complimenting her light pink sweater.

I suddenly see Jennifer across the cafeteria. I turn around so she can't see my face. What am I doing? Why am I hiding from this girl? I think. "So, how was your first four classes?" Tomas questions. His words pull me back to reality. "It was okay. I was late to a few classes though." I quickly reply. He nods and turns to his friends. I go through my lunch box and find a sandwich, I start to munch on it.

Maybe life with Tomas Bane isn't so bad after all.
