"It's an impressive cage. Not built, I think, for me." Loki says to Nick Fury. We all were watching on a small screen."Built for something a lot stronger than you."
"Oh, I've heard." Loki smiles and looks into the camera. "The mindless beast, makes play he's still a man. How desperate are you, that you call upon such lost creatures to defend you?" Loki asks.
"How desperate am I? You threaten my world with war. You steal a force you can't hope to control. You talk about peace and you kill 'cause it's fun. You have made me very desperate. You might not be glad that you did."
"Ooh. It burns you to come so close. To have the Tesseract, to have power, unlimited power. And for what? A warm light for all mankind to share, and then to be reminded what real power is." Loki says.
"Well, you let me know if Real Power wants a magazine or something."
"He really grows on you, doesn't he?" Banner breaks the silence.
"Loki's gonna drag this out. So, Y/N...Thor, what's his play?" Cap asks.
"He has an army called the Chitauri. They're not of Asgard or any world known. He means to lead them against your people. They will win him the earth. In return, I suspect, for the Tesseract." I nod.
"An army? From outer space?" Cap asks.
"So he's building another portal. That's what he needs Erik Selvig for." Banner nods.
"Selvig?" Thor looks up.
Banner nods, "He's an astrophysicist."
"He's a friend." I frown
"Loki has him under some kind of spell, along with one of ours." Natasha says.
"I wanna know why Loki let us take him. He's not leading an army from here." Steve says.
"I don't think we should be focusing on Loki. That guy's brain is a bag full of cats, you could smell crazy on him." Banner nods.
"Have care how you speak. Loki is beyond reason, but he is of Asgard, and he's my brother." Thor points.
Natasha looks up, "He killed eighty people in two days."
"He's adopted." Thor says, I look over at him and sigh.
"I think it's about the mechanics. Iridium, what did they need the Iridium for?" Banner asks.
"It's a stabilizing agent." Tony stark, the metal man walks in with Coulson. "Means the portal won't collapse on itself, like it did at Shield. No hard feelings, Point Break. You've got a mean swing." He smack Thor's Arm and smiles at me, "Cupcake." He nods. "Also, it means the portal can open as wide, and stay open as long, as Loki wants." He turns the the cruise, "Uh, raise the mid-mast, ship the top sails. That man is playing GALAGA! Thought we wouldn't notice. But we did." I look over, confused as he covers his eye. "How does Fury do this?"
"He turns."
"Well, that sounds exhausting. The rest of the raw materials, Agent Barton can get his hands on pretty easily. Only major component he still needs is a power source. A high energy density, something to kick start the cube." Tony nods.
"When did you become an expert in thermonuclear astrophysics?"
"Last night. The packet, Selvig's notes, the Extraction Theory papers. Am I the only one who did the reading?" Tony asks/
"Does Loki need any particular kind of power source?"
"He's got to heat the cube to a hundred and twenty million Kelvin just to break through the Coulomb barrier." Banner says.
"Unless, Selvig has figured out how to stabilize the quantum tunneling effect." Tony walks closer.
"Well, if he could do that he could achieve Heavy Ion Fusion at any reactor on the planet."
"Finally, someone who speaks English." Tony smiles.
"Is that what just happened?" Cap asks, looking at me and earning an equally as confused look.
"It's good to meet you, Dr. Banner. Your work on anti-electron collisions is unparalleled. And I'm a huge fan of the way you lose control and turn into an enormous green rage monster."
"Thanks." Banner says shyly.
"Dr. Banner is only here to track the cube. I was hoping you might join him." Nick fury walks in.
"Let's start with that stick of his. It may be magical, but it works an awful lot like a Hydra weapon." Cap nods.
"I don't know about that, but it is powered by the cube. And I'd like to know how Loki used it to turn two of the sharpest men I know into his personal flying monkeys."
"Monkeys? I do not understand." Thor looks up.
I look over confused, "What are-"
"I do! I understood that reference." Cap interrupts me.
"Shall we play, doctor?" Tony asks.
"Let's play some."
The two walk off. When no one was looking I sneak off down the hall, I slip into the room Loki was being held in....he instantly knew it was me by the sound of my heeled boots.
"Hello, darling."
"Why didn't you try reach out to me? You let me believe you were dead." I say as I walk closer.
"You deserve better."
"I would of followed you anywhere...you know that." I slightly smile.
"You would actually leave Asgard for me?"
"I would. Because I love you." I smile
"You wouldn't agree with the things I've been doing."
"Your right...I don't. We could still go somewhere....just the two of us." I nod, walking closer and pressing my hand against the glass.
Loki softly smiles and presses his hand on top of mine, I wished this glass wasn't between us. "You look so different...so beautiful." He looks me up and down. "Your hair is longer...curled more than usual. And you've gained more muscle. You don't know how much I want to kiss you right now." He bites his lip. "Why didn't the scar I gave you heal?" He suddenly asks, pointing to the 'L' scar he gave me.
"Because you gave it to me." I smile. For a moment I see my Loki...my loving and caring Loki. "Please stop this...I know you can. Come home with me. Or we can go somewhere else." I tilt my head, taking a chance. "We can be together...finally."
"You really think I can do that?" He steps away...his new Evil look returning.
"Loki..."
"You need to give up your childish fantasies....the Loki you once knew is gone." He hisses.
"I don't believe that."
"If I have to pick between being king and you....I won't be picking you." He turns.
This sudden change of attitude shocked me....I could feel the hate radiating off him....I could feel it in my heart.
Maybe he was gone...
