I rush to the healing room after hearing that Thor brought Jane."Jane!" I rush to her side as the healers look her over.
"Oh my god! Y/N!" She sits up and hugs me.
"What's going on? Why is the healers looking her over?" I ask Thor.
At that moment Odin walks in, "My words are mere noises to you that you ignore them completely?"
"She's ill." Thor says.
"She is mortal. Illness is their defining trait."
"I brought here because we can help her." Thor points.
"She does not belong here in Asgard anymore than a goat belongs at a banquet table."
Jane sits up and looks at Thor and I, "Did he just...? Who do you think you are?"
"I'm Odin. King of Asgard. Protector of the Nine Realms."
Jane's eyes widen, "Oh. Well, I'm..."
"I know very well who you are, Jane Foster."
Jane turns to look at Thor, "You told your Dad about me?"
"Something is within her, father, something I have not seen before." Thor says.
"Her world has its healers, their called doctors, let them deal with it. Guards, take her back to Midgard." As two guards approach Jane and go to grab her, suddenly the energy force within her sets off again throwing the two guards aside.
"Don't touch her!" Thor leans down and tenderly touches Jane. "Jane, are you alright?" Jane nods her head, Odin inspects the energy force running through Jane's body.
"That's impossible."
"The infection, it's defending her." Eir says.
"No, it's defending itself." Thor says.
"Come with me." Odin turns, taking us to another room. "There are relics that predate the universe itself. What lies within her appears to be one of them. The Nine Realms are not eternal. They had a dawn as they will have a dusk." Odin shows us an old book, "But before that dawn the dark forces, the Dark Elves, reigned absolute and unchallenged."
"Born of eternal night, the Dark Elves comes to steal away your light." Thor reads from the book, then looking up at me, "They were these stories mother told us as children."
"Their leader, Malekith made a weapon out of that darkness, it was called the Aether. While the other relics often appeared as stones, the Aether is fluid and ever changing. It changes matter into dark matter and seeks out to host bodies, drawing strength from their life force. Malekith sought to use the Aether's power to return the universe to one of darkness. But after eternities of blood shed, my father Bor, finally triumphed, ushering in the peace that lasted thousands of years."
"What happened?" Jane asks.
"He killed them all."
"Are you certain? The Aether was said to have been destroyed with them and yet here it is." I point.
"The Dark Elves are dead."
"Does your book happen to mention how to get it out of me?" Jane asks.
"No, it does not."
I leave Thor and Jane alone to walk, as I walk through the halls I spot Frigga. "My Dear." She hugs me.
"You saw Loki...didn't you." I wipe her tears.
"Yes but....I wasn't actually there." She looks away. "You saw him too...didn't you?"
"Yes...please don't tell Odin." I beg.
"I won't." She smiles. "Though I feel Loki's mind is corrupted....he always thinks of you. He really does love you." Her hand rests on my cheek.
"You should meet Jane." I wipe my stray tears. "She's very lovely."
"Come with me." She links her hand with mine.
"Frigga....I want you to know that you've always been like a mother to me." I say as we walk outside. "I'm forever thankful for you."
"And your like my daughter." She kisses my hand. "I love you very much, my dear."
"And I love you, my Queen." I smile.
We find Thor and Jane on a balcony, "My father doesn't know everything."
"Don't let him hear you say that." Frigga speaks up.
"Jane Foster, please meet Frigga, the Queen of Asgard, my mother." Thor smiles.
Jane looking embarrassed quickly removes her hand from Thor's, "Hi."
Thor and I smile as Jane and Frigga get to know each other.
"I love Jane, she is a very lovely person." I say to Thor, making him smile. "You two are perfect.""I'm glad my best friend approves." He pats my shoulder.
But this happiness was interrupted by alarms. Frigga looks back at us, "The prisons."
Thor looks over at me, "Loki."
"Go, I will look after her."
Thor and I both leap off the balcony, we fly across the city and both drop down in the prison, everyone stops and looks at us. "Return to your cells and further harm will come to you. You have my word." Thor says loudly. Suddenly one of the prisoners punches him in the face. "Very well, you don't have my word." Thor punches him back and starts fighting with the others.
I flip back and punch a prisoner, I jump off the stairs and tackle another man down.
"Go...we got this!" Fandrall says as we hear more alarms.
I fly off, Thor flying off behind me.
I fly into the tower Frigga was Hiding Jane to see Malekith, a larger monster stabs her. "NO!" I scream, sending a huge bolt of lighting at Malekith's face.
Thor hurls his hammer at the monster as they jump out the balcony. I catch Frigga in my arms before she falls. She looks up at me and presses her hand on my face.
I shake my head as my tears fall on her, "No...No...you can't. Frigga!" I shake her.
Odin softly takes her from me, holding her in his arms.
Thor pulls me up and hugs me as I cry.
I felt like I was going to pass out as Thor and Jane take me to my quarters. I sit down and stare blankly ahead as Thor returns with a wet rag.
"You have...blood." He whispers, wiping my face.
"We failed her." I whisper. "I failed her."
"No....don't say that." Thor holds my hands.
"I failed her."
