I jump up as I hear voices around me, my sword flies into my hand as I see I'm in some sort of ship. "Woah woah! She's up!" A raccoon yell."Who are you? What have you done with Thor?" I hold my sword out.
"Hey calm down, we're not gonna hurt you!"
"You couldn't hurt me if you tried." Lighting flows down my hands. "WHO ARE YOU!" I scream.
"Y/N...Y/N." Thor rushes to me. "It's okay....they are friends. They saved us." He grabs my face.
"Thor?" I look up with tears in my eyes, pulling him in and crying into his chest. "I thought it was a horrible dream...but its all real." I pull back and wipe my eyes, "I'm sorry...I just thought you were with Thanos or something." I say to the others.
"It's okay...we understand." A green lady smiles and pats my shoulder.
After quick introductions, Thor had informed me that we were going to Nidavellir so he can make a new weapon to kill Thanos.
Groot and Rocket would be joining us, "I bid you farewell and good luck, morons. Bye." Thor nods.
I sit back and rest my head in my hand as we take off, Thor clasps his hand around mine....I guess he knew what I was thinking about.
"I am Groot." (I need to tinkle.)
"Tinkle in the cup. We're not looking. What's there to see? What a twig? Everybody's seen a twig." Rocket says.
"I am Groot." (But the cup is full.)
"Groot, pour what's in the cup out in space, and go in the cup again." I say, still staring outside.
"You speak Groot?"
"Yes, they taught it on Asgard. It was an elective." Thor nods.
"I am Groot." (How long 'till we get there?)
"You'll know when we're there. Nivadellir's forge harnesses the power of a blazing neutron star. It's the birth place of my hammer. It's truly awesome." Thor slightly smiles.
Rocket sighs as he sees us staring outside sadly, he walks over to us, "So, dead brother, huh? Yeah, that can be annoying." He says to Thor.
"Well, he's been dead before, but this time I think it really might be true."
"And you said your sister and your dad?" He asks.
"Both dead."
"Still got a mom, though?" He til it's his head.
"Killed by a dark elf."
"A best friend?" He asks.
"She's still here." Thor holds my hand.
"Well....I see a ring. Fiancé?" Rocket asks, looking at my ring.
"My fiancé was his brother." I look over at him.
"Oh.....awkward." He whispers. "Are you sure you're up to this particular murder mission?"
Thor smiles, trying to reassure himself, "Absolutely. Rage, vengeance, anger, loss, regret... they're all tremendous motivators. They really clear the mind. So I'm good to go."
"Yeah, but this Thanos we're talking about...he's the toughest there is."
"Well, he's never fought me." Thor nods.
"Yeah, he has!"
"He's never fought me twice. And I'm getting a new hammer, don't forget." Thor points.
"Better be some hammer."
"You know, I'm 1,500 years old. I've killed twice as many enemies as that, and every one would have rather killed me, but none succeeded. I'm only alive because fate wants me alive. Thanos is the latest in a long line of bastards and he will be the latest to feel my vengeance. Fate wills it so." Thor nods.
"And what if you're wrong?"
I look up, "What more could we lose?" I ask.
Thor stands, Rocket turns and mutters to himself, grabbing something. "Okay. If fate does want you to kill that crapsack... you're gonna need more than one stupid eyeball." He gives Thor the eyeball.
"What's this?"
"What's it look like? Some jerk lost a bet with me on on Contraxia." Rocket shrugs.
"He gave you his eye?" I ask.
"He gave me 100 credits. I snuck in later that night and stole his eye."
"Thank you, sweet rabbit." Thor proceeds to put the eyeball in his socket.
"Hmm. Huh? Oh. I would've washed that. The only way I could sneak it off Contraxia was up my..." He turns as we hear beeping, "Hey, we're here!"
Thor smacks his palm against the side of his head to get the eye calibrated. "I don't think this thing works. Everything seems dark
"It ain't the eye." Rocket says.
We look out to see Nidavellir is dark and motionless as the three rings around it. "Something's wrong. The star's gone out. And the rings are frozen." I point.
We land and start walking through the cold, dark space as Groot still plays his game. "I hope these dwarves are better at forging than they are cleaning. Maybe they realized they live in a junk pile in the middle of space." Rocket says.
"This forge hasn't gone dark in centuries...." I say in shock.
"You said Thanos had a gauntlet, right?" Rocket asks.
"Yes. Why?" Thor turns.
"Look anything like that?" It was the mold of the gauntlet.
"I am Groot."
"Go back to the pod." I say urgently. Suddenly a massive figure storms towards us, flinging Thor and I away with one swing of his arm, and kicking Rocket and Groot against a wall of equipment. "Eitri, wait! Stop!" I yell.
"Y/N...Thor?" He stops.
"What happened here?" Thor asks.
"You were supposed to protect us. Asgard was supposed to protect us!"
"Asgard is destroyed." Thor scrambles to his feet and points. Eitri stops his attack on Thor.
"Eitri, the glove. What did you do?" I ask as I stand.
Eitri walks brokenly across the space to sit heavily, leaning against an ore skip. Rocket and Groot get to their feet, the sapling checking his game. "300 dwarves lived on this ring. I thought if I did what he asked, they'd be safe. I made what he wanted. A device capable of harnessing the power of the stones. Then he killed everyone anyway. All except me. 'Your life is yours,' he said. 'But your hands are mine alone.'" He holds up his immobile metal fists, encased in hardened molten metal.
"Eitri, this isn't about your hands. Every weapon you've ever designed: every ax, hammer, sword - it's all inside your head." I smile.
"Now I know it feels like all hope is lost. Trust me, I know. But together, you and I, we can kill Thanos." Thor nods.
Eitri looks up at us....I knew he was gonna help.
