Chapter 22 - Gone

As we fly over Svartalfheim, Jane continues to lie down and Thor puts a cover over her.

Loki sighs, "What I could do with the power that flows through those veins."

"It would consume you." I sit down.

"She's holding up alright, for now."

"She's strong in ways you'd never even know." Thor says.

"Say goodbye."

Thor shakes his head, "Not this day."

"This day, the next, a hundred years, it's nothing. It's a heart beat. You'll never be ready. The only woman whose love you've prized will be snatched from you."

"And will that satisfy you?" Thor asks.

"Satisfaction is not in my nature.....well only for one woman." He smiles at me.

"Surrender not in mine."

"The son of Odin." Loki says.

Thor jumps up, "No, not just of Odin! You think you alone were loved of mother? You had her tricks, but I had her trust!"

"Trust. Was that her last expression? Trust? When you let her die!"

"What help were you in your cell?" Thor yells.

"Who put me there? Who put me there?!"

Thor grabs hold of Loki, "You know damn well! You know damn well who!" Thor raises his fist to punch Loki but stops himself. "She wouldn't want us to fight."

"Well, she wouldn't exactly be shocked." They both smile.

"I wish I could trust you." Thor turns his back to Loki.

"Trust my rage." Loki whispers.

I drag him down next to me. "Stop."

"I'm sorry." He looks away.

"Loki you put yourself in that cell. You should know that I'd give anything to get you out of it....I already did." I point around us. "I committed treason. And after this....I still will be for stealing a prisoner." I nod.

"Are you saying..."

"Yes....we run away." I whisper to him, making his face light up.
I put a finger to my lips to shush him.

Suddenly Jane's eyes open, it's clear that the Aether has taken her over, she rises and looks ahead. "Jane." Thor whispers.

"Malekith." She points.

We land the ship and walk over a cliff and kneel down to see Malekith. After taking a shot time to make up a plan....we were ready. "Alright, are you ready?" Jane nods her head.

"I am." Loki nods. Thor and Loki rise from their hiding spot. "You know this plan of yours is going to get us killed."

"Yeah, possibly." Thor nods.

Loki holds up his shackled hands for Thor to uncuff him. "You still don't trust me, brother?"

"Would you?" Thor takes off Loki's cuffs.

"No, I wouldn't." Suddenly Loki takes out a dagger and stabs Thor and throws him down the hill.

"Thor! No!" Jane yells.

"You really think I cared about Frigga, about any of you?" Loki kicks Thor in the stomach. "All I ever wanted was you and Odin dead at my feet!" Thor raises his hand, attempting to summon Mjolnir, but Loki cuts off his hand making Thor scream out in pain, Jane rushes over to Thor but Loki grabs her and turns to face Malekith and his dark elves. I rush to Thor's side. "Malekith, I am Loki of Jotunheim and I bring you a gift!" He throws Jane at Malekith's feet. "I ask only one thing in return, a good seat from which to watch Asgard burn."

Malekith walks over to Thor squirming in pain on the ground. "Look at me." Malekith uses his foot to turn Thor, he then steps over and lifts Jane in the air and extracts the Aether from her.

as the Aether leaves her body Jane falls to the ground. "Loki, now!" I yell, standing. Loki uses his diversion tactics, Thor quickly summons Mjolnir and shoots lightning at the Aether attempting to destroy it, I throw my hands up and summon two lighting bolts, striking it at the Aether also.

But we failed, it slowly falls and then absorbs into Malekith.

He turns to leave on his ship, Two of the dark elves start attacking Thor and I.

I pull out my sword and flip up, slicing it down one.

I look over as the large monster throws some sort of vortex weapon, Loki shoves Jane out of the way. I fly as fast as I can, tackling Loki out of the way. "I got you." I smile.

I turn as Thor was getting beaten by the monster. I fly over and stab his shoulder, he can't pull out my sword so he turns and grabs my neck. I try to summon two lighting bolts but he slams me on my back. Punching me over and over.

I manage to hold my hand out and my sword flies to my hand, I stab his shoulder again, yelling out as he punches me once more. He stops as he is suddenly impaled, he turns, letting me see it's Loki who saved me. The monster pulls Loki in, stabbing him too, "NO!" I scream.

"See you in hell, monster!" The monster then realizes that attached to the blade in him is his own vortex weapon, it explodes before he can do anything destroying him.

Thor rushes to Loki. "No. No, no, no! Oh, you fool, you didn't listen!" I get up as my wounds on my face heal, sliding down and holding Loki's head in my lap.

"I know. I'm a fool. I'm a fool!" Loki squirms in pain.

"Stay with me, okay?" I cry.

"I'm sorry. I'm sorry." He says to me.

"Shh." I shush him, rubbing his head.

"I'm sorry." He says to Thor.

"It's okay." Thor nods his head. "It's alright. I'll tell father what you did here today."

"I didn't do it for him." Loki looks up at me, "I love you, Darling....don't forget that." He pulls me down and kisses me. I cry against his lips as I feel his body go cold. I pull away as a loud sob escapes my lips.

"No!" Thor screams.

I pull Loki up in my arms, he had turned blue, into his true form.
I hold him against my chest, rocking back and forth as I sob into his shoulder. "No...no. You can't leave me. You promised forever.....remember?" I whisper. "We were gonna run away...you can't go now. Not now." I kiss his cheek.

After awhile, Thor places a hand on my shoulder, "Y/N..."

"I'll never love again." I whisper to him. "It's always you." I kiss his cheek again, putting him down. I suck in a sharp breath as I fold his hands across his chest, Thor pulls me up and hugs me.

"I know." Thor whispers as I cry against him.

"I loved him so much Thor....he was everything to me."

"I know." He repeats.

My heart had been ripped to pieces once more.
