I hang up my saddle and take a shaky breath.

How the hell am I supposed to sleep tonight...

The voices of the scouts and dim lights come from the dining hall inside. Everyone's gone in for dinner by now, and I already know it's filled with tears and grief. 

We lost a lot of people today...

I sigh. There's not even any time to grieve. Tomorrow we still continue the mission.

I give my horse one last pat and leave the stables, going towards our building.

I make my way inside, and pause by the dining hall. I watch as I see the soldiers comfort one another over food.

God, I wish it didn't have to be like this...

Shaking my head, I walk away, I'm not even hungry anymore. Instead I go to look for my favorite trio.

Eren's still in pretty bad condition, and I know Armin and Mikasa won't leave his side. I guess the med center it is.

A few turns and hallways later, I make it to the recovery room where injured soldiers heal. I knock on one door where I see light coming from the bottom. It swings open almost immediately.

Suddenly I'm engulfed in a hug.

"Y/N! I knew you were alright." Armin hugs me tightly. I freeze in shock for a second, before relaxing and hugging him back.

"Of course, and I knew you would be too." I smile softly, "With that brain of yours you must have everything figured out in no time."

He laughs lightly, "Yeah? Well I only got it from you."

"Hm, good point." I laugh, "Mikasa, how is Eren doing?"

She finally looks away from him and up at me with tired eyes, "He seems to be healing everything himself, but he still hasn't woken up yet..."

I walk over to her, and put a hand on her shoulder, "Don't worry, I'm sure he just needs rest and he'll be right back to us by morning. He went through a lot today, we all did, and we could all use our rest." I smile softly, she nods.

"You're right Y/N, as usual." Armin smiles, "Although I heard about your fight with the Female Titan... you uh, almost killed her?" Suddenly he seems more worried.

I look down, "That monster... after seeing my squad murdered by her I guess I got a little carried away... unfortunately she got away. But if I ever see her again I'll kill her I swear. Even if it's the last thing I do."

Armin sighs, "I know you would. I just wish I knew why she did all that..."

I sigh, "I wish I did too. It's gonna be another thing that keeps me up at night..." Armin talks about her... almost like he knows her. This confirms it.

I turn to him, "Armin, how long have you known her identity?"

His eyes widen in shock, "I- um... what are you talking about?" He's nervous. He's never been a great liar...

I advance a step, "Armin. It's a girl you know isn't it. She was a part of the 104th cadet corps, that's how you know her, and that's how she got intel from the inside."

He sighs in defeat, "Yes, she is. I'm almost certain it's her. A girl named Annie. She ranked 4th in the top ten of our group. I swear I told Erwin all I knew when we got back today! I just wanted to be sure..."
