~I didn't know I was lonely til I saw your face,

I wanna get better, better, better, better, I wanna get better

I didn't I was broken til I wanted to change,

I wanna get better, better, better, better, I wanna get better~

George and I met up and carpooled to the interview where we met Adam and Ross. It was a typical interview. Average questions, what do you guys do before a show, how did you come up with 'The 1975' (which I'm so tired of answering), stuff like that. Afterwards we all went out to eat, and drink of course. It was pretty nice to hang out with my lads again.

I texted Skylar around 10 just to see how she was holding up. She didn't respond until a half an hour later.

Skylar: Hey i'm good, how was the interview? Sam says he'll be watching it tomorrow haha. tell the boys hello for me.

I smiled at this. I'm glad they all liked her, since I was planning the rest of my life with her. I couldn't help but laugh a bit at this to myself.

"What you laughin' at?" George said as I looked up and remembered I was at dinner.

"Nothing, Sky says hi." They all 'ahh'ed at this and smiled.

Adam was the first to reply. "Tell her we said hello and we miss her. I'll call her tomorrow, probably set up a day for us to get coffee or something." Ross cleared his throat and gave his own reply.

"Tell her I said I'm still wondering why she said yes to you." George laughed loud and patted his shoulder.

"But we're glad for you both mate." He said with a bit of a slur. "Tell her I said that too."

Matty: They all said hi and they miss you, Adam wants to call you tomorrow to plan a catch up day. Ross and George gave their usual 'tell her were wondering why she said yes'. They all miss hanging out with you very much. love xx

"So how are you guys doing anyway?" Ross asked, with a bit of sincere look on his face so I knew he wasn't just messing with me.

"She's good, a bit quiet lately to be honest, I'm a bit worried. But she's not gonna be peppy all the time I should know that, hopefully this hanging out with Sam will cheer her up a bit." We all looked down at this, they really did care about her, so I knew they were a bit concerned too.

"Well that's not good, maybe we can all hang out soon, that'll cheer her up for sure." George said with a hopeful smile on his face.

"She doesn't wanna hang out with you lose." Adam said playfully, pushing his shoulder.

"Better than hangin' around with you, you just make awkward small talk!" He kidded back. I laughed at this. It was fun to watch them all together. These were my best mates since highschool. They'd stayed by me through everything, and now were here. It was mindblowing.

"I bet she secretly hates all of you." I said smirking at Ross. He laughed and Adam got a fake disappointed look on his face.

"You wish man, we're close now, not like that, but you get what I mean." I nodded.

"Yeah, I got it. She's talked about you guys before. I asked her about you after the concert, on her birthday. She said Adam was pretty cool, and George was funny. She said she didn't talk to Ross much but he was nice. That was about it, but she seems to like you all which is good."

They all nodded agreeingly. There wasn't much else to be said. We all knew she had been changing. Adam knew for sure. Him and Sky had talked about some deep stuff, not as far as what we had talked about, but they were semi close which made me happy. We all had that small realization that something was changing inside her. Something that was not good. I didn't want to push it out of her, but I didn't want her to keep it locked up. I knew how that felt, for a very long time and it was not a nice feeling.

"Hey.. Matty." George said to the side of me edging my elbow. "Look man."

I glanced up to see my ex girlfriend, Gemma walking towards us. I was so not in the mood for this.

"Hey Matty." She said with this smug look on her face, like she had some great plan and she was just teasing me with it. Unfortunately for her, I was not interested.

"Hey Gemma, how've you been?" I asked politely. She suddenly grabbed a chair, and swung herself between Ross and I. My generous smile faded fast,

"I've been great, hello boys." She acknowledged the guys as they nodded or mumbled a greeting to her. "Well you all look a bit more... professional." She said with the fakest smile I had ever seen.

I laughed to myself with my head down. Glancing up I replied to her, "And you look... the exact same." George snorted to himself as Adam stepped on his foot, motioning for him to be silent, holding his gaze on her with a smile.

"Ha." She said ever so sarcasticly. "Thanks!" Keeping her role, as I kept mine. "I hear you've got a new girlfriend." The same smug look still on her face. Oh no. She will not challenge Skylar. I won't let her.

"Yes actually. We're quite happy." I said matching her fake smile, with a small head tilt.

"Yeah, she's real fun." George came in again, met with Ross' foot stepping this time. A small 'ow' whispered to himself.

We all stared at him including Gemma, with a look of anger mixed with, disapproval, which he took in quickly and bowed his head.

"Well isn't that great." So much sarcasm. I could barely handle it. "I didn't know you all shared women now." That was it.

Adam was the first up, fists clenched as Ross grabbed him and threw him back in his seat. I laughed to myself, trying to fake away the anger.

"Tenison, Adam? That's not good, you'll get stress wrinkles."

"Yeah Adam, you don't want those wrinkles like Gemma." I said knowing I hit her there. Her face fell ever slightly, we all noticed. Adam still clenching, let out a fake laugh.

"Well those must've gotten there while dating you, you know. Worrying if you were coming home sober, or drunk driving into a tree." She stared at me hard. I knew this wasn't about Skylar. She wasn't ready to give up.

"Well good thing I never did. I wouldn't have met Skylar then. Right guys?" They all smiled and agreed.

"Yeah and if you had never met Skylar then George would still be drunk driving, right George? Wasn't it Skylar who helped you fix that?" Ross asked defendingly.

"That's true it was Skylar. Yeah she really is a great friend to have, and from the way Matty's been lately, she must be a great girlfriend to have as well. We couldn't be happier for them." He said knowing that would have done her in now.

"We all love hanging with Skylar. She's fun and she always knows what to say. You can talk to her about anything really." Adam said with his dagger eyes still locked on her face.

"Well that's just dandy." She replied with a hint of anger underneath her grin. "It was great chatting with you all again. I hope your food gets spit on in the kitchen." She stood at us taking in everything that just happened.

"Tension, Gemma? Be careful you don't want worse wrinkles." I knew this last comment was enough. We were done now. She would leave. As she did, with a that fake, award-winning, smile.

"Well that was very amusing." Ross said after a bit of silence.

We all laughed about it as our waiter brought out a new bottle of wine.

"Cheers, to the well-being of Sky, and to friendships that last."
