you know what they say

I woke up that morning with a banging headache and an achy back which was due to the sleeping Tracey next to me. We had stayed up all night talking about our summers and my statement I made yesterday which led to many accusations and arguments.

I turned onto my side and saw that my alarm clock read quarter past six which was a lot earlier than my normal morning - I mean the fact that I was late to almost every event was proof enough. However, the bright light shining through the room and a snoring girl in my ear made it impossible to fall back asleep so I decided to just get dressed and head down into the common room.

I quickly got ready in hopes that I wouldn't wake any of my friends up and slipped on my robes that were more ghastly than I remember. I dragged a brush through my hair and decided to leave it down - after all it was the first school day of the year and I didn't want to look too rough.

I snuck out of the dorm grabbing my wand and a book on the way out, to keep me company before my friends finally decide to get out of bed. I shivered as I shut the door behind me but still continued my mission down to the dungeons.

I was hoping for a bit of peace and quiet away from my friends and their allegations but that plan was soon dismissed when I saw a blonde head of hair laying on the sofa.

I creeped down the stairs so that I wouldn't scare the living daylights out of him and probably wake up the whole of the Slytherin house. However, as I got close enough to the sofa I noticed that he was asleep and laughed - there were so many different paths I could choose right now and I enjoyed having that power over him.

"Hello" he said with squinted eyes.

"Oh" I yelped slightly startled, though probably not as startled as him. I mean opening his eyes with me hanging over him was probably not the most relaxing way of waking up.

"You alright there?" he chuckled as I went red in the face.

"Well I can't say i'm not a little disappointed, I had so many things planned to wake you up" I moaned as he raised his brow.

"Good thing I bloody woke up then isn't it?"

"I mean I guess, but I do prefer when you're asleep..less talking" I smirked as he rolled his eyes.

I soon moved from my position above him and walked to the arm chair that sat close to the fire. Although, I wasn't up this early most of the time I did enjoy the morning charm that Hogwarts offered. The chill of the castle was always heightened at sunrise and was greatly appreciated when you were hungover, in fact it was a god send.

"You know I've read that book" Draco commented, pointing towards the book that I held in my hand.

"Oh yeah, is it good?" I asked, turning the page.

"Yeah well they both die at the end so you might find it a bit depressing" he shrugged tapping his ring covered fingers on his stomach.

"Right, well thanks for that then" I said sarcastically as he cackled in satisfaction.

I closed the book and placed it down on the armchair before walking towards the portrait.

"Where are you going?" he called out whilst poking his head over the sofa's arm.

Though I completely ignored him and stepped through the door.

I began to walk through the castle admiring the autumn sky and embracing the crisp air that was nearly freezing me to death. I took a turn into the court and started to make my way to the designated 'smoke spot' - even though we had been caught multiple times there.

Eventually I arrived at the greenhouse and slipped into the back .Which was definitely harder than I remember it being. This was either because I hadn't been here for a while or because every time I came to this mucky place I was drunk.
