After everyone receiving their respectable exam results, and an angry letter from their parents (in my case), Hogwarts seemed a lot more calm. Teachers weren't giving out anymore homework, they weren't teaching any new subjects and detentions seemed at an all time low. In fact, I had never seen Snape looking so cheery.
This of course only meant one thing. It was the fifteenth of July.
Only one month away from my Birthday, and only a day away from breaking up for the summer holidays.
For now though I was sat at the Slytherin table, not being able to keep my eyes in front of me as they wandered across to the table opposite. And, whilst trying not to groan at the sight of him shoving his breakfast in his mouth, I felt myself hoping that lessons would go fast today so that I would be able to meet him after.
Unbeknownst to me however, Pansy had been hoping for the exact opposite. Instead planning a 'last day of school' party of some sorts, already securing everything she needed for the idea to go forward.
"Okay so I was thinking yesterday, would all of you want to skip today?" she suggested, the four of us having sat through the final speech of seventh year before digging into breakfast, happy with that knowledge.
"What did you just say?!"
"Well I don't know? I was just thinking that seeing as it was the last day we should you know...leave. Bear in mind that this is the last year before we have to properly knuckle down"
"I don't know about the rest of you, but I feel as though my knuckles have already downed enough thank you very much" Millicent barked back.
"I don't know? My knuckles seem fine honestly" Tracey replied earnestly, causing me to laugh.
"Oh c'mon Mills we hardly ever skip. Please just be exciting for once"
It was a good point she was making, after everything and all of the revision (I didn't exactly take part in), I felt as if a skip day was necessary. And I knew Tracey felt exactly the same because before I was able to put my vote forward she had already taken the words straight out of my mouth.
"I was fucking lazy during exam month. But you know what, after all the sex I've had, Im tired. And for that I deserve a break"
"Perfectly said. I agree." she stared at me, raised brows "Okay fine. Maybe not about the sex part but definitely about being tired!"
"Perfect so apart from Flo's earlier blatant lie we have a three against one type situation"
"Whatever! But just know that when Snape comes and verbally abuses me for not coming to his lesson you lot are to blame"
Pansy almost flung her body off of the bench in rejoice as she heard Millicent's verdict, throwing her cereal across the table as she embraced the, still unimpressed, brunette. Millicent groaned in disapproval, causing a couple of heads to turn in our direction, one of them being Ron whom I just sent a nod and a shrug in answer - deciding it was easier than trying to teach him how to lipread.
"Are you running away this summer or something?" I asked, nicking a piece of bacon from Tracey's plate as the others sent a confused look my way. "You just seem so eager for us to hang out. I've never seen you look so passionate about something before"
"Her fringe?"
"Okay...apart from her fringe then" I sighed.
"I'm not bloody running away, just miss doing foursome things. That's all"
Tracey smiled, trying to cover it with her spoon as I shook my head in disapproval (even if I was also trying to hold back the laughter just the same).
"Everyone is always with their partners having sex or...pretending to have sex in Flo's case"
