Initially I was upset to be leaving the Burrow because everything had seemed so perfect there. I didn't have to worry about the relationship I had with Ron because no pressures seemed to exist at the Weasley residence and I definitely didn't have to worry about anyone throwing us weird glances.
However, as Ron and I said our goodbyes (being the last of the Weasley's to leave that evening) and climbed into his fireplace - I actually felt more excitement than remorse because I knew exactly what was waiting for me when I got back.
Tracey.
It was all we had been talking about since about fourth year, getting with a boy whether that be romantic or sexual and I just knew she would be proud I finally did it two years later. I couldn't wait to tell her all about the lingerie and especially the ring because I knew she would faint just knowing Ron and I had finally made a move.
That's why as soon as Ron and I landed in Dumbledore's office I began to fidget aimlessly. Ron was of course being his overly friendly and polite self, which left me standing there itching to go and see the others in my dorm. They were talking about his Birthday, his gifts and, with no surprise, Dumbledore's ridiculously sour lemon drops that no man apart from him legitimately enjoys.
"And what did you get Mr.Weasley, Miss Harrington?" Dumbledore asked.
"Hmm?" I perked up, taking my attention away from the floor and looking up to see the white bearded man smiling rather sickly.
"He asked what you got me," Ron whispered, nudging me knowingly as we both tried to cover our blushed cheeks.
"Well...I got him a really nice t-shirt which he appreciated,"
"That sounds lovely, I'm sure you appreciated that didn't you Mr.Weasley?" Dumbledore asked innocently as if he couldn't read the thoughts of all of the people standing in the room.
"Loved it...anyway, we're going to leave. We have a lot to do and unpack an-"
"No need Ronald, I understand. Goodbye to both of you"
We both nodded in response, Ron not seeming all that sad to be leaving early - which I completely understood. And, as we walked through the corridors we both took a sigh at the sadness of being back at Hogwarts. Given, it wasn't the worst place to be (especially with my house being the embodiment of dread), but it wasn't the best either. I wanted to be back at the Burrow or even in the Ford Anglia with Ron talking about whatever shit came to mind and I wanted to be all sappy.
Then again, I don't think my face showed such sadness as we arrived at my dorm room and I was reminded that I would soon be in a dorm room full of people that wanted to listen about my sex stories and wouldn't cringe when I brought up specific details (like Hermione).
"I'll see you tomorrow, in lessons?" Ron asked, trying his best to hold my hand whilst also trying to keep it concealed to the Slytherin's flooding inside the dorm room after leaving the Great Hall.
"Yeah I'll see you tomorrow, thank you for a good weekend and thank you for liking my gifts" I smiled, giving him a quick peck upon his cheek before a first year came darting down the stairs and we had to pull away.
"Thank you for giving them to me, I've never felt so lucky" he blushed.
"Yeah and you've never felt so sexually frustrated either," I teased "anyway, better get going wouldn't want Draco or anyone to see us out here"
"...Right," he coughed "yeah...bye"
It was slightly awkward as I turned around to crawl through the portrait, which was pretty stupid seeing as we had literally just shared a romantic weekend with one another. But either way it was over pretty quickly, along with the walk over to my dorm.
