MEMORIES~
I stared at the steam streaming through the hot coffee. Today was a really gloomy day. The sky seemed to have worn colours of grey and white, submerging the atmosphere in partial darkness. The clouds occasionally thundered, sometimes so loud I had to strain my ears. I was never a big fan of thunderstorms. I didn't know why I sat there, waiting for an obnoxious person such as Darick, but I just did. He always met me up at the cafe around this time, and I barely met up with friends. Yes, I had a few, but none that were as close as Anna was to me. This reminded me of Anna's last wish.
'Don't trust anybody,' She'd said.
I sighed. If only I knew what was going on in Anna's head. She knew something I had to know, and I had a feeling it was somehow related to me. It had to be or she wouldn't have warned me like that. I sighed and took a sip of my coffee. It was smooth and warm against my tongue and my tongue instantly smoothed under the heavenly taste.
'I hope you didn't wait too long,' Darick appeared all of a sudden. I looked up at him. He was wearing his usual attire, black shirt and skinny jeans. He never failed to look hot in those.
Ok, let's not think about that.
'I was planning to leave, so go figure,' I shrugged and quickly finished my coffee. Another cup won't do me any harm.
'I'm sorry, had to get the ladies off my back,' and with that, he flashed his million dollar smile at me. His overconfidence was something I'd gotten used to, by now.
'Oh yeah? Never saw any, show-off,' I snorted.
'That's cause you're rarely around,'
'Okay, whatever, you want coffee?' I motioned the waitress at my table. She seemed like a confused young waitress. I guess they'd just employed her. She hesitantly came towards our table.
'One Mocha and one cappuccino, please,' She wrote it down quickly on her notepad. I could see Jason looking her up and down, smirking.
I cleared my throat to get his attention and the waitress left instantly. We chatted for awhile before our coffee arrived, and then Darick had to leave for class. It was a morning well spent.
I rushed towards my class, hope swelled inside me. It'd been over a month, if i wasn't wrong, Jason was going to come back to school today. However, I still found the seat next to me, empty. I waited and waited, I took his classes too, in hope he was going to come late all along. However, he didn't show up, no matter how many hours I waited. It gravely disheartened me, to the point I didn't even meet up with Darick at the end of the day and left for home. All I needed was a nap, an escape from reality. Why did all my friends end up leaving me? Was I some sort of curse? A single tear slid down my eye and I quickly wiped it away as I rode towards my destination.

2 Months Later~'Why aren't you meeting up with me nowadays?' Darick raised an eyebrow. I stared up at him from my work. Wow, he cared.
'I'm busy, got exams coming up,' I lied. In reality, I knew he'd end up leaving me too, so better just avoid it. He was famous, a lot of girls liked him, he could be with any of them yet he was here, with a loner like me. I deserved to be with no one after what I'd done to Anna. No matter how hard I tried, I just couldn't forget about her.
'Real friends never say they're busy, just so you know,' He mocked hurt. I wanted to roll my eyes at his acting.
'Then what do I say? Sure, I'm happy to waste my time and fail at life, that's what friends are for,' He smirked at my comeback and leaned back alittle. Hmm...how could such a beautiful person be sitting here with someone like myself?
'You really hurt me Jenna, I was just trying to 'plead' for you to meet me more often,' Plead for me to stay? Ha-ha.
'What's the big deal? We do meet up,' He made an 'are you kidding me' face.
'You're not the same anymore. Is this about Jason? Was he your boyfriend?' I glared at him as he spoke. What. the. hell. Why can't he just leave that alone?
'Mind your own business!' i snapped and got up to walk away when he held my arm, stopping me.
'I can see it in your eyes, that's why,'
'What did I just say!?' I almost shouted. He seemed unaffected by my outburst.'You do love him- a lot. Yet, he left and never came back. Left without any trail..' A tear escaped my eye as his words poked at my heart like needles. He'd left me, oblivious.
'Stop..' I croaked.
'He lied, he wasn't sick. No one has any idea where he ran off to.'
This was like everything crashed down on me. He lied to me. No, he'd not even told me. He'd ran away. It was all too much. I snatched my arm away, trying to hide my tears. I had to run before he saw me like that. I had to leave, quick.
'He's not coming back, Jenna.' Those were his final words as I ran towards my apartment.
