Part One: Anna
"W-what?" I croaked, slightly falling back as i got off my chair. He seemed unmoved, his eyes gleaming as if thinking of something that happened afar, seated in the same position.
"Don't you remember?" Tears flowed down his cheeks, as he told, "You told me it was okay. It was okay to be different. Infact, you-" he choked, "you encouraged me to keep on doing it Emma, you said you were fine with..with,"
"With?" I pushed him onwards, i needed to figure what all this was about.
"The killings, the gore, murders. You loved me for who i was and-" A thud sounded throughout the room as i fell on the floor, trying to wiggle away from him in the farthest corner, as if he couldn't catch me there.
"M-m-murders?"
"And you even helped me...you-you helped me kill Anna.." Tears stroked down my eyes as i comprehended his every word.
"But you said...you..you even helped us search for Anna and..oh my gosh," I gasped as i remembered.
Anna was my best friend since childhood. We both were like inseparable sisters, and our friendship soon made it through high school. Though, she had never liked Jason. The day she saw him, she remarked his strange appearence and was amongst the student body who despised his peculiar aura. Let me just say, what i mean by 'peculiar aura'. Jason never ever talked to anyone, he constantly stared at one person till that person felt awkward. Once a person had tried conversing with him, i don't remember who, but i think he was from the basketball team. Well, he ended up thinking the same, and he along with his gang started bullying Jason. Jason took the bullying silently, ignoring their every insult, taking their every assault.
That was until that guy from the basketball team attempted to harrass me. He tried to kiss me in a secluded area behind the school, where i had gone to get away from my P.E classes which i apparently, sucked at. Fortunate or not, Jason happened to be there and he'd beat him up so bad, that he ended up in the hospital with severe injuries. Consequently, Jason was suspended.
I didn't think much of it, afterwards. And, although i resented such cruel beating, i did remind myself to thank him for saving me that day.
We happened to meet at the cafetaria after a month of his punishment, and i got caught up while talking to him.
"I wanted to thank you for saving me back there.." I rubbed the back of my neck nervously as he stared down on my petite frame.
Tick. Tock. Tick. Tock.
"I think i should go now.." He held my hand and turned me round to face him.
"Don't you wanna hear what i have to say?"
"Yeah, i guess," I looked at his green eyes and felt curious. That's what his eyes held. So many secrets. I didn't find it strange at all.
"I think he was a fine guy until i found him trying to force you." For a second, i stood there, shocked. Surely, he was kidding me?
"He bullied you, too,"
"I didn't think much of it. But, he apparently had no respect for a girl...forcing you like that,"
"Oh, i-" I think i was blushing, but i hoped not. He was flattering, but nowhere near strange. We parted ways and the next day, we met again and made some small talk and it soon turned out that these small talks led to a greater friendship, a stronger bond between us. I shared my every secret with him, and soon i had started trusting him more than my own self.
But that's only the good side of the story, i guess. Along with hating him, people started hating me, too. Whenever i entered the halls, i would hear one of them say, "Look, his psychic is here," and then laugh his ass off. But i had ignored them. I thought they were in the wrong, that they were clearly misjudging him.
Oh, how wrong i was.
The only one that i had left by my side was Anna, who, with a heart full of suppressed despise, accepted him in the group. However, the dislike was always there. Whenever Jason tried to converse with her, she waved it off or simply dismissed it, on the excuse that she needed to 'get to class', when we clearly knew it wasn't until another hour. Anna started parting from me, and i didn't like that, so i invited her to my house.
Just recently, she had started acting strange around us. Whenever she saw Jason, there was this, fear in her eyes. It wasn't the 'dislike' i'd seen earlier. It was fear.
And I ignored it. I thought she'd come round to believe people about Jason. She already had been from the start?
A few more days passed after we had a fight over a certain issue and I saw the change in Anna's appearence. She had bruise marks on her face and hands, her eyes were emotionless, with dark, deep bags under her eyes. She kept herself apart from everyone, occassionally looking at me, as if, with pleading eyes, but then quickly averting her eyes towards something else. I decided to confront her about all this, but she kept blocking me out. She didn't pick up my calls, replied to my pleading messages, or spoke back at school.
She simply smiled, and walked away.
I had started to become worried about her behavior and decided that i should conclusively, visit her home. But just as i had planned it, the news came.
She had went missing.
