MEMORIES~
Anna looked exhausted ever since I refused to talk to her. Was that because she was being too hard on herself because of the whole fight? Well, she had no right to be blaming me for this. She deserved it, anyway. Jason was filling up the space anna had emptied ever since he came. I didn't know what people found wrong in him. He was perfect, a friend like none other.
Him calling me at night to tell me how the stars shone differently, the smile he gave whenever I laughed at his lame jokes, like that's what he'd ever wanted, to see me smile with my eyes, those moments were to marvel at. I didn't know whether I'd ever need another friend to make me feel whole. I didn't know what I'd do if he found some other to adore, some other to care for the way he cared for me, and honestly, I didn't know whether I could handle that.
His undivided attention was paradise, I had to admit. His smile was the couch, his company the blissful sleep.
There was a peculiar attraction between us, like we were meant to be together, in each other's embrace.
I looked at him through the window that separated us. He sat on his chair like usual, arms crossed, legs up, like there was no worry in the world. He kept staring at a girl in front of him, raking her body up and down. My brow creased, stomach churned, what did that girl have that I didn't? The girl's boyfriend spotted Jason looking at her lustfully and then came the bullying. I applied all my force on the pencil I was holding, as it's tip went inside my hand, drawing blood. It was not until Angelina noticed me hurting myself that she snatched the pencil out of my hand.
'What's wrong with you today?' She demanded, the concern dripping from her tone. I didn't have the strength to argue with her, so I left, and she stared as if I was some piece of glass she'd dropped and was about to break. I needed Jason.
'You?' He asked, standing by my locker. The people behind me gossipped, and mocked as I approached him.
'The guy has a girlfriend!' One of them shouted. I saw his expression, unchanged. I looked back to find that guy violating my space, standing two inches from my face.
'So you're that chick he's dating,' his smirk was menacing, I gulped. He held my back, curling his fingers around my hips. I pushed his chest with all the force I had but with no avail. His hand went behind his back and the next thing I knew I had cheese pie all over my hair. Everyone in the hall went senile, laughing their asses off. I felt tears threatening to come out, so before I further embarrassed myself, I ran, as far away as I could.
Why didn't he save me?

I could hear the people behind me still laughing, mocking. It was embarrassing. Why was this happening to me? Just because I'd befriended someone they found unacceptable? I had a right to choose for myself. I hated this place. I hated this society. I ran towards my car. It had scribblings on it, from 'freak show' to 'slut'. I quickly went inside, wiping away my tears, only to find Anna sitting beside me. She looked nothing like before, neither had I seen her in school since the fight. Her eyes were bloodshot, her skin devoid of colour. She seemed sickly pale, but I didn't have the heart to sympathise with her. I was flaring with anger and she had come at the wrong time. Her eyes spoke for her. She was going to plead for something, but that could wait.
Because I threw her out of the car, and quickly drove away without a second glance.
