MEMORIES~
Everyone was mean to me. Everyone. Just within two weeks I'd found out the difference between my true friends and fake ones. Jason was quiet. He had been avoiding me since the day I ran away from school. I checked my phone thousand times a day to see if he left any messages or calls, but to no avail. Worse of all, I'd pushed Anna away, despite her miserable condition, but i didn't have the heart to face her anymore. What'd I say to her? What words could describe my situation well enough to earn me forgiveness?

My room reflected my mood, dark corners, gloomy atmosphere, shut curtains. Mom came in through the door and unusually, sat beside me, her breathing shallow, eyes darting back and forth, as if thinking of words to express her thoughts.

'Why aren't you going to school, honey?´ finally came a question. I sighed.

'I don't feel like it,'

'Why not? Is there something wrong?' I looked at her face, worried expression etched on her usually happy face.

'No,' I replied quick enough to get rid of her and as I thought, she left shortly after that, unable to keep up with my mood. Mom wasn't a bad parent, but when it came to serious talk she'd always be the one to chicken out. I sighed, lifting my head to stare at Anna, who stood near the bed, her face gaunt, and almost ghastly. My mouth hung in shock at her sudden arrival, but I managed to recompose myself enough to ask her to sit beside me. She obeyed.

'Listen. About that day, I was,' I was about to apologize when she interrupted me and jumped on me, her chest heaving at a fast pace. She teared up while hugging me, whispering something I could barely understand.

'What?' I slowly got her off me, and backed away the lose strands of hair that covered her face. Her eyes were bloodshot, lips as dry as a cactus.

'What have you done to yourself?'

'Jen-na,' she spoke in between sobs, 'Hel-lp me,' Her eyes roamed around my room as she spoke, as if there was someone in the room ready to leap at her any moment. I gripped her shoulders to gain her attention. Her breathing slowed, she huffed.

'I know I'm acting weird, but you have to believe me, jenna,' She held my hand, her hand as cold as ice. I flinched at the intensity but then put my hand on hers again.

'Tell me everything,'

'I'm-m being followed,' she whispered loud enough for only me to hear.

'By who?' I felt myself getting petrified as she went on. She stopped for awhile, staring at me with intimate eyes. Her eyes darted behind my head and she slowly got off the bed.

'I have to go,' she sounded distant, completely different than before. I got up with her, holding her arm to stop her.

'What's going on?'

'Just know this, from here on, don't trust anyone. And I mean no one, do this for me please,' She released her hand from mine and in a split second, ran out through the door, leaving me rooted at my spot. I ran in her direction, my mind going in all directions, I needed answers, desperately, but there was no sign of her outside or within the house. The streets lied empty, the air blowing away the moisture from the rain before.

However, what really freaked me out was the silhouette of a man behind the tree that stood tall beside my house.
