Draco’s POV
During my extremely boring Charms class, I was pulled out by McGonagall.
“Mr. Malfoy, hello. I suppose you know why you are here?” she asked lightly.
“Um, no Professor, I’m afraid I don’t know.” I said, getting nervous.
“Oh! In that case, let me tell you quickly; I bet you don’t want to miss Charms, hmm? After your classes, I need you and Miss Granger to come to my office. The password is ‘Wrackspurt’. ”
“Why?” I asked curiously, after a few seconds of thinking. But she had already walked away.
After my last class, I find Hermione, and we quickly go to the Headmistress’ office. Hermione smirks when I say the password, for reasons I do not know.
“Hello, both of you, and thank you Mr. Malfoy for bringing Miss Granger here. As you know, Halloween is a week away, and we have an annual Halloween dance for the 7th years and people redoing their 7th years; 8th years, if you will. This year, It will be held in the Room of Requirement. I need both of you to spread the word, and get posters to all Houses’ common rooms. And Hermione, I have sent out letters to everybody that was in the 7th year last year, because they didn’t get to experience it.” McGonagall said excitedly.
“So.. Harry, Ron,- everybody will be there?” Hermione asked breathlessly. McGonagall nodded. Hermione’s face lit up and she almost looked like she was going to hug McGonagall. Luckily, she restrained herself.
I smiled a bit, but I didn’t really want to see Potter and Weasley. Knowing them, they would see my face and yell at me. But I really don’t want to find out.
The next day, Hermione and I made the posters and enchanted them so that they would fly around the school and place themselves where 7th and 8th years would see them.
“So, Draco, what are you gonna be for Halloween?” Hermione asked me absentmindedly.
“Um.. what would people usually be for Halloween? I’ve never dressed up before. My father thought it was immature.” Hermione gaped at me, and I felt my cheeks flush.
“Uh..” After a few moments of thought, Hermione snapped her fingers. “I got it! You should be a vampire. You’ll look the part.” she reached over, messing up my hair.
“Ok, whatever you say.” I said, chuckling. “What are you going as?”
“It’s a surprise.” she grinned, and I couldn’t help but groan in frustration. I’d only have to wait.
