Draco’s POV

Wow, here it is. More proof of me being a terrible person. Why did I have to get mad at the Weasel? Why couldn’t I just let it slide off my back? ‘After all those years of bullying people, they know how to let it go. But I just can’t.’ I thought angrily.

“She’ll be alright, she can always push through the bad times.” said Potter, noticing the angry look on my face. Why does he have to be so nice? I don’t know how anyone could have hated him.

We walked into the hospital wing, and Loony called out for Madam Pomfrey. She came bustling over, and shock crossed her face.

“What happened here?” Madam Pomfrey asked, already tending to the unconscious girl’s wounds.

“Uh, she got hit by a spell.” Longbottom answered smoothly. ‘Hm, they sure know how to help each other in times of need. I can see why they are all friends.’ I thought. I see Hermione peacefully lying in bed. To someone else, they would have thought she was asleep, if it weren’t for the huge, bleeding gash on her stomach. I can’t help but notice that her ‘muddy’ blood looked exactly the same as my own, and my father’s words come back to me. ‘This is a mudblood, no better than the scum on the bottom of our shoes.’ It was at that time that I finally realized that he was wrong, that muggleborn witches and wizards are the same as anyone else.

Ron’s POV

Why does ‘Mione have to be friends with the ferret? Out of all people, him? I regret hitting Hermione with that spell, but I will never regret those things I said to Malfoy. He was a complete git, and she is willing to overlook that? She slapped him back in our third year, for crying out loud! I hope she will forgive me, and that we can still be together.

“Malfoy, what happened before we were here?” Harry said quietly. He didn’t shout, but every word he said was dripping with fury. That’s what scares me about him.

“Uh- well,” the ferret said. He seemed to notice Harry’s anger. “Nothing happened! We have to share a common room because we are Head Boy and Girl. It’s not my fault she can’t stay away from me.” Ugh, there he goes again; he just can’t stop being an evil ferret.

“Okay, I’ve healed all of Miss Granger’s wounds, but she still isn’t conscious. We will just have to wait.” Madam Pomfrey said, breaking the argument that was just about to happen.

Hermione’s POV

As I open my eyes, I immediately notice I am back in normal clothing.

“What- where am I?” I ask to no one in particular. Then it comes back to me. Ronald hit me, that git!

“Oh, Hermione, thank Merlin you’re okay!” Harry said. “We brought you to the hospital wing. I have decided to stay here for a while, to make sure you will be fine.” He gave Draco the evil glare. “Oh, and Madam Pomfrey said you can leave whenever you want. You’ve been unconscious for five days, you know. At least you’re cuts are gone.” He added.

“Five days!?” I yelped, jumping out of bed. “I need to catch up on homework!” I heard someone laugh.

“Draco Malfoy, get your butt over here this instant!” I said sternly, and he strode over, chuckling, but stopped when he looked at my expression. “Draco Malfoy, you- ignorant- evil- little- ferret!” I yelled, hitting him lightly with each word. He looked up, confusion in his grey eyes.

“What did I-” but I stopped him, tackling him in a hug, which he gladly returned.

“You know, I’m gonna teach you how to punch someday. You’re terrible.” He said jokingly.

“Excuse me? Wait, where is Ronald?” I asked Ginny.

“Where do you think? He is down at the Great Hall, stuffing his face, the idiot.” She said, annoyed.

“Okay, see you later.” I said, marching out the door.

“Oh, you’re not leaving without us. Neville and Luna left, by the way. They’re really sorry, but they had to go.” Ginny said.

“Okay, but I’m going to speak with Ron.” And with that, I confidently walked out, with three people trailing behind.
