Emily's POV:

Is it wrong for me to say that I'm actually kind of excited to go to school today?

I mean, I know that it's probably going to be weird after school if Jesse and Luke see each other, but I mean it'll give me some time to spend with Luke and we can talk about everything.

I get dressed and head downstairs.

No sign of my mom whatsoever.

I make myself some eggs and eat them before dialing Betty and asking her if her mom can come pick me up, but then I realized that she was still upset at me.

Great.

"Guess I'll just call-" I say to myself before I hear a honk coming from outside. I open the door to see Jesse in the car, alone. "Good morning, Sunshine." He says as I look at him in disbelief.

He could drive?

"You have your license?" I ask as he holds it up. "Don't worry, I'm an excellent driver." He says as I let him know that I'll be right back.

Jesse was only a couple months older than me, but I guess things are different in Seattle than they are here in terms of driving.

I grab my backpack and head back outside and lock the door. "You know, I wasn't really expecting for you to be my chauffeur this morning." I say sarcastically as he laughs. "Well, I wanted to surprise you. It's not everyday that I get the chance to take you to school." He says as starts the car. "Well, thank you because I didn't have a ride."

"You see, Jesse always knows best."

The car ride to school was probably the best one I've had yet. Jesse turned on the radio and we both sang our favorite songs at the top of our lungs, though I'm not sure how we managed to not crash since the driver was so distracted.

When he pulls up in front of the school, I say my goodbyes. "Well thank you for bringing me, I had a lot of fun." I say as he grabs my hand and kisses it. "You're welcome, Sunshine. I'll see you after school." He says as he gets out of the car quickly to open the door for me.

"You know, you didn't have to do that." I say as he grabs my hand and helps me get off the car. "I know, I wanted to." He says as he kisses my cheek which catches me off guard. "I'll see you later." He winks at me and then walks back to get in the car.

I walk away, still in shock from the cheek kiss but eventually compose myself and head inside.

Little did I know that a certain someone saw the whole thing go down.

After a couple of minutes, I finally get to my locker. "Finally." I mutter to myself since my backpack was heavier than usual with all of the art supplies that I need for 6th period today.

I open my locker, and put everything that I don't need right now, away. When I close it, I hear a familiar voice say, "hey."
