One Week Later
Betty's POV:

"Em...Emily! C'mon you need to get out of your room!" I say to my best friend as she wraps a blanket around her body. "No, just let me be."

I sigh as I see the state that she's in. She hasn't left her room in a week ever since her and Luke took a break from their relationship.

"But Emily, you were the one to suggest the break. Why are you so upset? You haven't even talked to Reggie or Alex. They really miss you, know you." I say as I try to understand what was going through her mind right now.

After Luke had gone back inside the garage, I noticed that he looked like he wanted to cry so I went to find Emily.

I eventually found her in her backyard after her mom had let me in the house. She told me everything, and while I do see her point, I don't understand why she's so upset, they didn't officially break up, just a pause.

"You don't get it Betty, I know I said that we needed a break...but I'm scared. I'm scared to see him again, to see him with Ashley." She says as she removes the blanket from her face to reveal her red, puffy eyes.

"Scared of what?" I ask, her eyes filled with sadness and worry. "I don't know...I have this bad gut feeling. It's feels like somethings wrong. I couldn't sleep last night, my thoughts were just going so fast and..I don't know."

"Well of course something's wrong Em, you're not speaking to your boyfriend. Tell you what, get dressed cause we're going to the garage and we're going to fix this mess." I say as her eyes widen.

"Oh..no, nope. Bad idea, bad idea." She says as I try to pull her away from her bed but she wouldn't budge.

"Fine, we won't go. But you should still get out of your room. We can go watch a movie or something. Emily, you only have a month left with us...let's take advantage of the time we have together." I say, hoping that I had convinced her with the "you're moving away" tactic.

She sighs before eventually getting out of bed and changing into some clean clothes.

While she was getting ready, I took the liberty of calling Alex on Emily's home phone and telling him to meet us at the Diner that's a couple of blocks away from Emily's house.

Alex's POV:

"Yeah, I'll be there in ten. Alright, see you." I say to Betty before hanging up the phone.

"Who was that?" Luke asks as Reggie and Bobby also look at me, wondering who was that on the phone. "Betty. She wants to hang out right now." I say as they all start to put their instruments away.

"Oh sweet, we all haven't hung out together in a while." Reggie says as I stop all of them. "Uh..you guys can't go!" I blurt out, knowing that only Luke was the one that couldn't come. "Why not?" Luke asks.

"Because...she needs to talk about something private. You know, girl stuff." I say, hoping that this will make them stay.

"Oh." Reggie says as he looks down. "B-but she'll probably talk to you soon Reg, I think she just needs some advice." I say, hoping that he wasn't thinking that his girlfriend felt like she couldn't talk to him.

"It's fine, man." He says with a small smile which I return. "Is Emily gonna be there?" Bobby asks as Luke looks down.

I put my hands in my pocket and roll back and forth a bit on my heels before saying, "uh..yeah. Yeah she's gonna be there." I say as I turn to look at Luke, who had a somewhat guilty look on his face.
