A FEW DAYS HAD PASSED since the first task. The Slytherins were rounded up in the dance room – for some reason.

The head of their house, Severus Snape, entered the room, closing every opened window – blocking all the sunlight.

The room turned dark and dingy, even a little colder. Y/n and Emma gave each other looks, for they both were always frightened by Professor Snape.

A record player was placed in the middle of the room. Y/n leaned closer towards Emma – and asked. "What do you think we'll be doing?"

Her best friend shrugged, shaking her head too. She was too scared to talk when Snape was in the room, worried she might get in trouble.

The Professor cleared his throat and the room fell to silence.

"I am here to inform you that the school is holding a ball this christmas eve," said  Snape, "In celebration of the tournament."

The boys broke into complaining groans, whispering and cursing underneath their breath. Some girls were excited, some were not.

One particular girl who seemed overly excited was Pansy Parkinson. She looked at Draco Malfoy from across the room, blinking her eyes rapidly – trying to flirt, perhaps.

Y/n and Emma couldn't help but laugh at her.

"Silence!" howled the professor, "Learn to respect the person who is speaking, especially a teacher."

"I have been instructed by Professor Dumbledore to inform you all that you must dance properly," Snape continued, eyeing all of the students.

"You are old enough to learn how to dance on your own, and that you shall do," he added, before pointing his wand to the record player before it started to sing a tune.

"Rise, please, Miss Lewis," the Professor said demandingly.

Being a nervous wreck, Y/n did as he said – standing up and walking to the middle of the room.

"You'll have a dance partner," Snape scanned the room, "Who'll it be.."

Y/n shut her eyes and crossed her fingers. Hoping – pleading she wouldn't get Draco Malfoy as her partner.

'Please don't be Malfoy, please don't be Malfoy, anyone but Malfoy.' rang through her head.

"Anyone but Mr. Malfoy?" Snape turned back and asked her. She forgot that he was an excellent legilimens.

Malfoy's offended gasp could be heard. Being petty, he then scoffed loudly, "Pft, like i would want to be paired with someone like you, Lewis."

Snape squinted his eyes at Y/n – as she nervously requested that she wouldn't be paired with Malfoy.

"Please sir," Y/n pleaded, "I've gotten the most points for our house for the last 4 years."

Snape looked at her – like a look of defeat. He sighed, displeased.

"Rise up, Mr. Nott," he ordered Theo, "You will be Miss Lewis' partner."

Y/n smiled – relieved that at least she didn't get the ferret boy. Theo walked up to her with a grin on his face.

"Everyone will pay attention to Miss Lewis and Mr. Nott before they can join them with respective partners," said the professor.

Theo offered his hand, formally bowing down. "May i have this dance?" he asked. Y/n chuckled at his words, nodding, "My pleasure."

Theo kissed Y/n's hand as he took it, making her cheeks heat up – grinning madly. He spun her before she placed her hand on his shoulder.

Theo held Y/n's hand gently, as his other hand travelled down to her waist. They glided across the floor,  both dancing beautifully.

Emma gushed over the two, smiling. She  mentally noted that she'd definitely tell the boys about this later.

"You're pretty darn good at this," Theo complimented before spinning her again. "You too," Y/n smirked, "I wouldn't have thought you were this skilled at dancing."

"Well.." he chuckled – and Y/n was blushing just by the sight of his smile, "There are a lot of things about me that you don't know.

"All students rise please!" Snape instructed, "Find your partner. Dance."

The Slytherins all stood. Pansy Parkinson running to Draco Malfoy immediately.

"Is she always like that?" Y/n asked Theo, who was pretty close with them. "Yeah," he replied, "After some time, you'll get used to it."

"Disgusting meets even more disgusting.." Y/n said, looking at the awkward duo, "Works well."

She widened her eyes when she realized what she had just said – Theo was friends with both Parkinson and Malfoy, so she thought she had offended him.

"I'm sorry," she apologized, "They're your friends–"

"It's okay," Theo interrupted, smiling, "I understand where you're coming from. Draco's a git, i know."

Y/n laughed along with Theo, as her eyes scanned the room again. She soon found Blaise dancing with Emma, and they seemed friendly with each other.

"What are the chances of you going to this ball thing with me?" Theo abruptly asked, "I mean, we make a pretty good dance team, don't we?"

Blushing, Y/n couldn't help but smile. Theo was handsome, yes, but she hadn't really thought of being with him.

"I'll think about it," Y/n replied.

"Don't think too long, yeah?" Theo teased, "Wouldn't want another girl stealing me from you now, would we?"

The bell rang – signaling them that the lesson was over. Snape dismissed the Slytherin students, and walked out of the room.

"Tell me when you got an answer," said Theo, bringing her hand up and kissing it again. He gave her a smile before he walked away, joining his friends.
