When Dre first started Aftermath he was struggling to find a new artist to be his protégé. In an attempt to help, Jimmy Iovine (owner of interscope) would have Dre over at his house and they would go through the piles upon piles of demos that Jimmy had been given either by random people on the street or interns. Dre came across Ems demo and immediately fell in love with his work. He freaked out and told Jimmy "find this guy!" Within a few days Jimmy's interns had managed to get Marsh's contact info. Dre called his house, set up an appointment to meet him, and that was that.
