To go off of the not having a dad thing, they also both grew up in abusive households.
According to Eminem his mom use to abuse him mentally (not physically) and would mistreat and neglect him when he was a child. While Em has said in songs that he was physically and sexually abused by his step dad, he has never actually confirmed or denied it.
Dre was raised by his mom as well but had abusive step dads. Out of the 4? 5? men that Dre's mom dated, 2 or 3 of them were physically abusive both towards Dre and his mom. Dre spoke out about this a little bit in the documentary Defiant Ones.
