Dre has never spoken about any suicide attempts, at least not to the public, but there is reason to believe Dre is in fact suicidal.
Dre has mentioned suicide and wanting to die in a few songs such as The Message and Stronger.
In the documentary about Dre's life called the Defiant Ones there is a conversation where Dre speaks about being depressed or as he calls it "being in a dark area". Dre speaks for a while about having really bad and really dark thoughts (thoughts of suicide). He then says the only reason he fights these thoughts off is because: "I know that there are people here who still need me."
The interviewer then asks Dre what the longest amount of time is that he's ever been in that space (depressed) to which Dre responds that he's never out of it.
