Although Em talked quite a bit about drugs throughout his career, he actually didn't do drugs until some time after he started rapping about them. Since people had heard him talk about taking drugs and pills in his songs, they assumed he was serious, so fans would bring him drugs. After a while he got warmed up to the idea of taking them and actually did start taking them.
