Eminem has a similar incident when he was a child, except he did it to himself.
When he was little he was a mommas boy and was obsessed with being by her side at all times. When he was still just a toddler / young child Debbie was going back and forth loading up laundry into the car so that they could go to the laundromat. Little Marshall, having separation anxiety, saw this, thought that his mom was packing up to leave him, and got scared.
So he ran after her.
Through a door.
As Debbie explained it: Marsh put his arm through a glass door while running after his and almost cut a main artery. There was blood everywhere and he still has the scar on his arm but it's hard to see it unless you look closely.
