Chapter 31: Surprise

"No!!!!" I scream over Nelly's body as I finally let her go. "NOOOO!!!!!"

My tears fall onto her body as I mourn over her.

"Zane, son." My father says, grabbing my shoulder.

I shake, trying to push him away.

"Sh, sh, sh." He says, pulling me in a hug as I try to force him away. "It's okay. It's gonna be okay."

"No, it's not!" I cry as I stop beating on him to let me go.

I finally hug him back. It's good to know I at least have my father to comfort me.

I've lost my mother, my girlfriend, and my friends all to the secret. The only thing the secret hasn't taken away yet is my father and I. I hope he can survive the monstrosity of disaster that is about to occur before us.

Who am I kidding, we're all going to die with earth.

But, I will cherish this possible final hug with my father.

"I'm sorry." I whisper to my father.

"Sorry for what?" He asks.

"Everything. I'm the reason the world is ending." I tell him, in a crying mess, and I finally look up at him as we stop the hug. "And I killed mom."

"What?" He gasps.

"I'm so sorry." I say. "I thought I should tell you before we die. Dad, the world is ending."

"Oh my god." He says with tears in his eyes as he puts his hand over his mouth in tears. "What have you done?"

Out of the blue, a bright light zips by. I look at the light and notice that someone is there, using the light like a flying device. I know who this is. Someone...

"Surprise!" The person yells.
