The very thing I have been trying to avoid this entire time is the reveal of the secret. Why? Because this secret is the most dangerous secret in the world. It is such a dangerous secret that it gives one the power to rule the world. However, the reveal of the secret could lead to the end of the world and the end of humanity.
In addition, a dangerous man, named Jeremy, threatening to kill one of the most important persons to me, Nelly, got the secret out of me.
Here Nelly and I are, having escaped the place he kidnapped us in, on the race to stop him.
This secret has been destructive ever since I have known it. It has killed the ones I love, it has separated me from the ones I love, and it threatens everyone's lives and life completely. Here is where that all could come to an end.
"Come on, Zane," Nelly begs me, "What is the secret?! You have already told Jeremy. What would be the harm in telling me?!"
"Alright," I say, "the secret is a complex number."
"A number?," Nelly asks.
"Yes," I answer, "A number. To be more specific, the secret is a combination. A very long combination that when told, cannot be forgotten."
"What does this combination unlock?," Nelly asks.
"It unlocks a giant volt unknown to man," I say, "a mile beneath the White House."
"What is inside?," Nelly says.
"Inside is the most powerful energy on the planet," I say, "It is the very energy that powers the earth. However, when humans get a hold of it, they can harness that energy to their control and use it against others. That is how someone can rule the world, with such almighty power. And that is also how it can destroy the world, because that energy was meant to stay in the earth. When it comes past the surface, bad things will happen because the earth can't survive without its source of energy."
"Oh my god, it is all making sense," Nelly says, "But, why even have one and only one human even know about it?"
"Someone has to know because that way," I continue, "if mankind wants to go further in the surface near the White House, there will be someone and only one, who knows the secret, so they can stop them from drilling down in the surface."
"How could that one stop them without giving away the secret?," Nelly asks.
"By using lies or being not who you say you are," I say, "For example, my grandfather once stopped them because the government wanted to build more subway trains beneath the ones already. My grandfather had to do something. So he managed to fit a job in cleaning the White House and when everyone was gone from the man who was overseeing this event, he snuck in his room and sent an e-mail to everyone working on the project saying it was confirmed cancelled due to high radiation. He then hired someone to silence this man."
"I guess he had to do what he had to," Nelly says.
"Exactly," I agree, "it was either one man or the entire human race. And, you know, the reason that only one person can know at a time is because if more than one know it, things can get out of hand, you know."
"Okay. But one more question: how do all these people who are looking for the secret, know about it in the first place?," Nelly asks.
"Because the first time the secret was told to someone, the keeper of the secret killed him before he ruled the world and destroyed the earth and whatnot," I say, "But, people figured out that there was a secret that was capable of giving someone the control to rule the world, so people have hunted it ever since. They didn't even know anything about the volt a mile under the White House."
"So we are headed to beat Jeremy to the volt and stop him," Nelly says.
"Precisely," I say, "and we are almost there."
Minutes later, we already make it there.
"How do we get there?," Nelly questions as we get out of the car.
"Shhh," I say, "just follow me."
We go to the gardens outside of the White House and into a secret cellar under some bushes.
We rush and close the cellar door behind us. I run and slide down a long slide as Nelly comes behind me. Minutes later, we are at the volt. And so is someone else. Jeremy.
Before we can stop him, he opens the volt.
"NOOOO!!!," Nelly and I yell.
