Jade's pov:

"Sikowitz!" I said as I entered his classroom.

"Jade!.. and your friends! What brings you all here?"

"Since you're the head of student activities, I was wondering if we could have a masquerade ball at Hollywood Arts.." Tori spoke.

Y/N's pov:

As soon as I entered school, I saw a big poster. I walked up to it to see what it was about. It was about a masquerade ball at the end of the week. I was a little weirded out, but still excited.

I saw Tori and Cat standing by their lockers, so I ran up to them.

"Hey Y/N! Did you see the posters?" Tori asked.

"About the masquerade ball? Yeah." I responded.

"Isn't it cool?" Cat joined in.

"I mean, yeah, but.. don't you think it's kind of big? A masquerade ball at Hollywood Arts. Can't we just have a simple prom or something?" I said.

"I guess you're right, but still! It's so much more fun!" Tori spoke.

"Yeah, so fun when everyone is wearing masks and you can't tell who is who." I sarcastically said.

"Trust me, you will love it there. If you go, of course. Please go."

"I will, don't worry. I'm still excited for it. It's an event I've never attended before."

Tori nodded. It was time for class, so me, Cat and Tori all got to our classrooms. The school day ended pretty quickly. I met up with Tori before leaving school to talk a bit more about the upcoming ball.

"Tori, I have a question." I said.

"What is it?"

"Were you the one that thought of organizing a masquerade ball at school?"

"Uh.. no! It was not my idea!" Tori quickly left.

She sounded very suspicious. Plus, it was weird that she said it wasn't her. I couldn't think of anyone else that would think of such an idea. I decided to go to Sikowitz to get more info.

"Sikowitz?" I said as I walked into his classroom.

"Y/N! Lovely to see you." he said as he sipped a coconut. "Do you need anything?"

"Actually, yes. I have a question."

"Go ahead."

"Who brought up the idea of a masquerade ball?" I hesitantly asked.

Sikowitz looked at me as if he was trying to process the question.

"Ah, well, I can't tell you that." he finally said.

"Why not? Just tell me, please!" I made a sad face.

"Well.. you're a good student so I suppose I could tell you a secret or two." he gave in. "It was Tori and two other people."

"The other people being?.."

He didn't answer. He just drank from his coconut and stared at me. I raised my eyebrow, initiating that I was waiting for a response, but I got nothing.

"Alright then. Thanks for helping." I said as I left his classroom.

After my interaction with Sikowitz, I was even more suspicious of Tori.. and some other people as well. I didn't know who they could be, but the masquerade ball was a perfect chance to find out.
