I sat next to Cubbie in the car, with Mark behind the wheel and Pontius on the passenger seat. Isom and Sean were busy playing thumb wars in the back. Cubbie and I were just quite after the conversation we had. “You know we’re going on tour tomorrow, right?” Pontius suddenly said, addressing to me.
“Yup.” I replied,
“Do you want to come with us?” Isom said in excitement,
“Come on, it will be fun!” Sean added,
“Thanks, but I’ll pass. I have classes, remember?”
“I just remember that.” Mark smiled, “Have fun with that.” He teased,
“Besides, I don’t like being around too many people anyways. Especially in a tour bus.” I blurted,
“Why?”
“I just don’t. I mean, have you guys ever see me flip out on someone?” They all laughed, “It’s weird, but true. Hey, at least I don’t bury it deep down, it’ll drive me crazy.”
“A unique way of expressing yourself, grasshopper.”
“Are you calling me a freak?” I questioned, pretending to be offended.
“Maybe.” He mumbled with gritted teeth,
“Well, you’re a freak too.” I protested in defense.
“We all are, kiddo.” He chuckled.
“Cubbie’s quite.” Pontius exclaimed, “He must be hiding something!”
“Cubbie, is there something you’d like to share with us?” I smirked and he just quietly shook his head, “Okay, maybe some other time.”
“Why?” Sean asked, leaning his chin on Cubbie’s seat, “Why must you hide it from us?” He pouted like a two year old.
“Because now is not a good time, okay?” Cubbie finally said,
“Why?” Mark glanced at Cubbie through the rearview mirror,
“Because I don’t feel like telling.” Pontius, being a pushy guy he could be, asked the same question over and over again.
“Why?” After the twentieth time, Cubbie finally replied.
“I’ll tell you when I fully believe that it’s true.” He said; his voice fully annoyed.
“What do you mean?” Sean asked,
“It’s still in the process of being digested in my brain.” Cubbie then beckoned me, “Should I tell them now?” He whispered and I just shrugged, it’s his news.
“Truth or lie, gossip or fact or whatever just tell us, it’s okay.” Pontius said. Cubbie looked at me with pleading eyes, he wanted me to tell them for him. I shook my head, no way in hell that I’m going to tell someone else’s news.
“Judging by his face, I could tell that it’s a very big news.” Sean said, patting Cubbie’s shoulder. Like a sensitive guy Cubbie could be, his shoulder and neck tensed.
“Back off, guys. Give him sometime!” I waved my hand at Sean, telling him to back off.
“Ally, you already know?” Mark asked, almost gasping and I just shrugged. “Cubbie, why are you keeping secrets from us?” Mark pouted,
