Driver's License

Hi. How are you?

So. . . I recently got my driver's license. I passed the final tests. Oh. My dad got me that car, too. I remember how we used to talk about this moment a lot. I just wish you were here with me now.

It's funny how not even that long ago we were together. Together in the middle of the night just racing through town in your new convertible while laughing our hearts out. Together sharing different stories on our hardships and achievements. Together for almost two years. But now you're not here anymore.

For the past week, all I've been thinking about is what it'll be like if you were here right now. If all that didn't happen. Would things be the same if we met again? Would my name ever fall out of your mouth so lovingly again?

Are you with her now? Are you. . . Happy? Though I don't know if I can be. . .

I've been driving past your house every night. It makes me remember the times we spent there. It makes me think that I was driving home, everytime I drive by. Is that creepy? Ha. . .

My friends stopped hanging out with me, too. . . I guess they got tired of hearing me talk about you so much. I can't blame them though. But if they had known you well enough, they'd probably be able to understand me.

I know you definitely wouldn't receive this letter, but the feeling of writing this and getting it off my chest would make me feel like you were still here. That I'm talking to you about these feelings. But I can only wish, now.'

Y/N drove past his house again, promising to herself it's the last. Surprisingly, she actually saw him there this time.

Renjun still looked the same, as he took the garbage can out to the front. When he walked back, he randomly turned around, and even through the car's dark windows, Y/N swore they locked eyes. For that short second, memories flashed past her eyes like a long movie at super speed. Soon ended as Renjun turned his head, and walked into his home.

That night, as Y/N drove home, she felt better than she had ever did coming home from his house. She felt as if a weight got lifted; as if she can finally breathe now.

She took out her letter, and wrote at the very bottom:

"Thank you for coming into my life. Thank you for the memories you gave me. Thank you for letting me love you. And thank you for giving me a chance to let you go, now. I love you, but now, I'll move on."

Y/N folded it up, and placed it into an envelope, before returning it into a drawer and locking it up.
