Chapter 30
~ Nina ~
"N-Niall. Don't give up on me. Please, don't leave me yet." I cried.
"I'm still here, princess. I'm still here." He croaked out.
I pressed harder on his wound, blood spilling over my hands.
"Ahh." Niall whimpered, his face showing discomfort.
I kissed his forehead, starting to cry harder.
"I have to tell you something." I said.
"What is it, honey?"
"I-I'm pregnant."
It was only a second before his lips formed a small smile.
"Oh, honey. That's great. We're gonna have a little baby."
He slowly moved his shaky hand to my stomach and placed his palm down.
"Our little baby's in there. Daddy loves you."
I sobbed over the moment and pressed harder on Niall's wound.
He has to stay alive long enough.
Long enough until the paramedics get here and then they can really save him.
"You're gonna be the best daddy ever. I know it. Our son or daughter is going to look up to you and love going on tour with you."
Niall groaned and closed his eyes in pain before opening them again.
"No, princess. You're gonna take care of our little baby. Raise our beautiful baby girl or baby boy into an amazing, smart, caring person. You won't be on your own. I'll be watching over the both of you, guiding you both in the right direction."
"W-What do you mean? You're gonna be there, raising our child with me."
"Yeah, I will, baby. I'll be helping you raise them while I'm above, watching over you."
This can't be happening.
No, no he's gonna stay alive long enough.
"You're gonna make it, Niall. No, you're gonna make it. You can't leave me." I cried. "WHERE ARE THE PARAMEDICS?!"
"It's gonna be okay, baby girl. I promise. You're gonna make it through this. You're strong enough. You're gonna show our baby how to be strong, just like their mommy."
"Don't leave. No, Niall. Don't do this, PLEASE!" I started to scream.
"Trust me, Nina. You have to be strong and know that I'll always be with you. Trust me, princess."
He raised his hand higher, groaning in pain, and stroked my cheek with his calloused fingers.
I turned into his touch and he wiped a tear away.
"I love you. So, so much. I love you more than anything. And I love our baby. Don't forget to remind them that everyday."
"Don't say that! Stay with me!" I began to panic.
"Say you love me. I need to hear the words come from your lips one last time."
"I love you! So much! I love you! I love you! I love you!"
I kissed his lips softly as his tears mixed with mine.
He groaned again.
"I love you." He rasped out.
His eyes went wide, along with mine.
"Niall, wake up."
I shook his body a little, trying so hard to wake him up.
"Wake up."
He didn't move.
"Wake up! Niall, please! Wake up, wake up, wake up!""Nina, wake up!"
"NO!" I screamed.
I woke up in a cold sweat, Louis next to me on the bed, his face full of panic.
"You're okay. It was just a nightmare. It's not real." He reminded me.
"Niall. I need to know he's okay." I gasped out, rushing to get my shoes and sweatshirt on.
"It's 3 in the morning. You're not going out, Nina. I can assure you he's safe. You could call him."
"No, I need to physically see he's safe." I said. "I'll be back."
Before he could stop me, I ran out of the house and out to my car.
The rain poured down from the heavy clouds.
I wiped the tears out of my eyes, speeding off to the house I haven't been to in almost a month.
The lights were off when I pulled up, so I jumped out of the car and ran to the door, knocking hard.
"NIALL!" I screamed. "Niall, please! It's me! Open up!"
The porch light turned on before the door opened.
Niall stood there in his plaid pajama pants that I had gotten him.
"Nina? Wh-What's going on?" He asked, clearly tired.
I sighed in relief and flung my arms around him, hugging him tight.
"You're okay. You're okay. You're safe."
He seemed taken aback by the contact but soon wrapped his arms around me too.
"Yeah, I'm okay. I'm safe. Why would you think I wasn't?" He said.
"I had a dream."
I wanted to pull away from him, but he was warm, and I felt safe and protected.
"Why don't you come inside, love? We could talk about this dream." He suggested.
I can't go in there.
I'd have another panic attack an Louis wouldn't be here to help me.
"C'mon, babe. It's chilly out tonight. It'll be alright."
I have to.
I walked inside the house and Niall closed the door after me.
He sat me down on the couch, and ran off.
I looked around the familiar room and felt the tears brim my eyes.
I can't stay in here.
I stood up and turned around and ran right into Niall, screaming.
"Hey, shh, it's just me. You're okay."
He sat me back on the couch and wrapped a blanket around me.
"You're soaked and cold. You may want to sit by the fireplace." He said.
I nodded and sat next to the heat, pulling me knees up to my chest.
Niall sat on the ground across from me.
"Now, explain this dream you had."
I pulled the blanket closer to my body, shivering lightly.
"Y-You were bleeding. I don't know how. And I was trying to stop it but it kept pouring out faster. My hands were soaked with your blood. You were so weak. The paramedics were called but they never came. You were dying quickly. And then I told you I was p-pregnant. Then you died in my arms. You wouldn't wake up. No matter how loud I screamed, you wouldn't wake up. But that's the end. And I needed to know you were safe." I explained.
Niall stared off into space, quite surprised by my dream.
"It's okay. I'm safe, love. It was just a nightmare. Just a nightmare. You're safe with me and I'm safe with you. Everything is okay."
I looked to the ground and shook my head.
"I'm sorry." I whispered.
I woke him up at 3 in the morning just for this.
I should've let him sleep.
"Don't be. You were scared, it's okay. All that matters is you're feeling okay now."
Even though he said that, I still felt really guilty.
"Hey, Nina?"
I nodded, letting him know I was listening.
"Two questions, I'll ask slowly. Number one, can I hug you?"
He wants to hug me?
I don't know if that's a good idea.
I might get overwhelmed.
"I-I," I stuttered. "Please."
He moved over to behind me, wrapping his arms around me, pulling me into his chest.
This is our movie position.
"Why did you sit like this?" I asked.
He could've just hugged me and let go.
"Did we used to sit like this?"
How did he know that?
"Y-Yeah. We always sat like this."
I laid my head on his chest, feeling a little more relaxed.
He's remembering.
He has to be.
"I thought so. But I have a second question. I need you to be 100% honest with me. Even if the boys have told you not to tell me, I need you to."
What could he possibly ask?
And could I betray the boys if they told me not to tell?
I couldn't lie to Niall, though.
"Nina, like you said in your dream, are you pregnant?"
"No, no I'm not pregnant." I said quickly.
I felt the tears again as I thought of how I was pregnant.
Not anymore.
"Pinky promise?" He smiled, holding out his pinky.
I held out my shaky hand and intertwined our pinkies.
"Pinky promise." I whispered.
I looked at him, not in the eyes, but at his lips.
I haven't felt them for a long time, minus that time in the hospital.
His warm, minty breath fanned down on me, which made me fall under his spell.
I started to lean in , as did he, and I closed my eyes.
When my lips had just brushed his, I quickly pulled away.
This isn't going to be good.
"I-I have to go. I told Louis I'd be q-quick."
I stood up and unwrapped out of the blanket, gently placing it on the love seat.
Niall was surprised, I think, but he soon came to his senses and stood up next to me.
"Yeah. You sure you don't want to stay longer, just until the rain stops?"
"No, I'm sorry. I really have to head back. Thank you, though."
I walked to the door as Niall followed, placing his hand on my back.
"If you need anything, please don't hesitate to call, text, or see me. I'll be there." He said softly.
"Thank you." I whispered, looking down.
Before I was about to leave, I wrapped my arms around him again, burying my face in the crook of his neck.
"Thank you." I whispered again, into his skin.
His touch warmed me up but I knew I had to pull away and go home.
"Bye, Niall."
"Bye, love."
