Chapter 51
~ Niall ~
The screams of the fans filled my ears, which made my adrenaline pump faster.
It's nights like this that make me love touring.
Something sounded a little off with my guitar, though, so at the end of a song, I quickly went off stage to get it fixed.
"Niall, thank god. We need you to come back here." Someone from crew said.
"Right now?! We're in the middle of a concert." I exclaimed.
Lou appeared suddenly, with a worried look on her face.
That's when I knew something was up.
"It's Nina."
That's all she had to say for me to shove my guitar in someone's hands and run to the dressing room.
Nina was on the floor, her hands wrapped around her stomach, and her eyes closed tightly.
Oh, no.
What's wrong with the baby?
"Nina, hey, hey, baby. What's wrong? Can you tell me what's wrong?" I asked, getting down on my knees in front of her.
She cried out, but couldn't speak any words, which scared me.
"We need paramedics. Quickly. Please, Lou." I begged
She ran off and I turned back to Nina, grabbing onto her hands.
"Shh, look at me. Look at me, princess." I whispered.
I moved my hand to the side of her face, stroking my thumb over her cheek.
"Ni-Niall. The baby. I can't lose the baby." She cried.
"You're not going to lose the baby. Just stay calm. I've got you. You're safe." I whispered.
The door to the dressing room opened again, and Louis ran in, coming over to us.
"Shh, Nina. The baby's okay." Louis said.
"How did you know?" I asked.
"Your microphone is still on. We can hear you on stage."
My eyes widened before I said to the fans, "Sorry, guys. There's a little incident right now."
After that, I shut my microphone off and turned back to Nina.
"Niall. Hold me, please."
I took her trembling body into my arms, kissing her softly.
Louis placed his hand on her back in a comforting way, giving me a nervous look.
I don't think there's any major thing wrong with the baby.
It may just be a little something that Nina isn't used to, being as this is her first real pregnancy.
The door opened again and two paramedics came in.
After a few minutes, they concluded that it was just a shift of the baby, and Nina was okay.
"See, princess? You're okay. The baby's safe. Just a little scare. Everything is alright." I said.
She nodded and hugged me, her tears and shaking ceasing to exist.
A few moments later, I realized that I had to get back on stage for the fans.
It's been at least twenty minutes, so I'm sure they're waiting.
"Lou's gonna come back with you again, but Louis and I have to go back out. The show's almost over; only four songs left." I said.
"Okay, I'll see you after." She said.
I lifted her up and placed her on the sofa, kissing her forehead.
"Relax a little. I love you." I said softly.
"I love you, too."
I kissed her one more time before I left with Louis.
"God, I'm sorry. I just couldn't leave her. She was in so much pain." I said.
"No, I get it completely. I would've done the same thing."
I turned my mic back on, grabbing my guitar from the guy I must've given it to.
I heard Harry cracking a horrible joke, so I knew we needed to get out there quickly.
I walked down the ramp on the stage, listening to the fans increase in sound.
"Thank goodness you're back. Harry's jokes are horrible." Liam said.
"Yeah, I heard the last one." I laughed. "Thank you all for being patient. Just had a little scare with Nina being pregnant and all, but I'm almost certain you heard the beginning part. That just goes to show that you are the best fans in the world."
I smiled when they screamed loudly.
"Now, let's get back to the music!"~ Nina ~
"Princess, wake up."
My eyes flicked open, and my vision was blurry, until I focused on Niall.
He smiled and I sat up, stretching my arms out.
"Hi, beautiful. How are you feeling?"
"I'm okay. What time is it?"
He began to take his shirt off, throwing it in a pile with his jeans and socks.
"The show just ended. It's quarter to midnight."
I groaned when I felt a sharp pain in my head, coming from straight above my left eye.
"Ni, do you know where I put my purse?" I asked, not seeing it on the table where I thought I put it.
"Yeah."
He walked over to the bathroom and came back with my purse in his hand.
When did I leave it in there?
Oh, boy.
I must be losing my mind.
I got out some pain killers, grabbing a bottle of water.
"Wait! You can't take those. You're pregnant." Niall said.
"No, it's okay. I called Melinda and she said it was safe for me to take Tylenol in small doses if I have a headache." I relieved him of his worries.
He took a moment, but then nodded and slipped on a shirt.
"Let's head out. I am so tired, princess."
I slipped on my shoes and grabbed my phone, following Niall out.
We found Preston outside the door, and he lead us to the tour bus.
As soon as I got on, I was bombarded with questions coming from Liam and Harry.
"What's wrong? What happened with the baby? Are you okay? Do you feel okay? Is the baby safe?"
I shook my head and cracked a smile.
"I'm okay. So is the baby. I just felt pain when the baby shifted. I hadn't ever felt it before, so I didn't know how to deal with it." I explained.
"Oh, thank goodness. We thought something really bad happened." Harry said.
"Where's Zayn?" Niall asked.
"Passed out in his bunk already." Liam said.
"Well, we're headed to the airport. Next stop is L.A." Louis said.
When the bus began to move, everyone dispersed to wait until we got to the airport.
