Chapter 37
~ Niall ~
The screams got louder as the concert came closer.
The intro video is about to start and then the boys and I have to run out.
I'm so not ready, but ready at the same time.
I checked my mic to make sure it was okay and frantically strummed my guitar to make sure it's in tune.
That's the one thing I get really nervous about before a show.
The guitar can't be out of tune the whole time otherwise it's just crap.
"Relax. It's in tune. You're good." I heard a voice say.
I looked up to see Nina with a small smile on her face.
"Yeah, yeah I'm just nervous with the new show and all."
"You'll be okay, I promise."
"Let's go, guys! One minute!"
I moved my guitar aside and kissed Nina's lips softly but quickly before her cheek.
"I love you. You're gonna do just fine."
"I love you, too." I said, rushing over to the guys.
I watched as Nina moved to see us from backstage and I made the hasty decision to run over to her and kiss her again.
She was caught off guard, but I went back to my previous position before she could process everything.
I smirked and she shook her head, laughing, as the boys and I ran out on stage.

"I love this! Holy shit! Get me another!" Nina screamed, downing her third shot of the night.
I chuckled and shook my head, deciding that was enough for her.
With those shots and, like, two other drinks, Nina's quite drunk.
She gets drunk really quickly because of how tiny she is.
"No, baby. You're done for the night."
She pouted but stumbled over to me, however, I caught her quickly when she was about to fall.
I looked around the club to see if I could spot any of the boys but I couldn't see them.
I've gotta get Nina back to the hotel.
She won't make it much longer until she passes out.
And I'm sure she'll have a killer hangover tomorrow.
"I'm gonna take you home, baby, okay?" I tried to talk to her without yelling over the bass pounding music.
I pulled out my phone and texted Harry real quick, letting him know I was taking Nina home and that he needs to make sure the guys get back safely being as he was the original DD, but I wasn't feeling any drinks tonight.
Could you imagine that?
Me not wanting any drinks?
Crazy, right?
When Nina started to sway, I picked her up and carried her out to the car.
"You're so charming. Sweeping me off my feet." She giggled.
I nodded and started to drive back to the hotel.
The radio started blaring a popular song when Nina turned the volume up, nodding her head to the beat.
"I love this song!"
I couldn't help but let out a little laugh at her.
She's so free when she's drunk.
She doesn't give a care about the world and that's what I love most.
She's always putting others before her and saving herself for last when she's sober, but when she's drunk, she just does whatever she feels like doing.
And I love that.
Twenty minutes later when we arrive back to the hotel, I picked Nina up again, bridal style, and brought her inside.
"Fucking hell." I cursed quietly when I saw the elevator was out of order.
"We're taking the stairs, princess."
All the way to the top floor.
You can't be serious.
I held Nina a different way so her legs we wrapped around my torso and her arms around my neck, her head laying on my shoulder.
After agonizingly going up the stairs, we finally made it back to our room.
One thing about Nina when she's drunk, she's a squirmer when she's held.
Carrying her up the stairs was a little harder than I thought it would be because of that.
But I don't mind.
When I placed my keys down, Nina started to really squirm.
"Hey, hey, relax."
"Niall, I'm gonna-I'm gonna-"
I darted to the bathroom and got Nina there just in time before she started to get sick.
"Just get it out, princess."
I rubbed her back softly with my one hand and held her hair with the other.
And this is the worst part of her being drunk.
How bad of a hangover she has depends on how long she is sick.
I'd say she's gonna have a pounding headache when she wakes up tomorrow.
When she finally finished, she drunkenly brushed her teeth and walked back out with me.
I sat down on the edge of the bed and then Nina took a seat right on my lap.
I looked up at her to see a smirk on her face.
"No. No, Nina." I said, knowing what she wanted.
"Please, Ni! I'm so in the mood tonight. I want you to make me feel good like you did before." She begged.
I shook my head and she started to circle her hips again.
"No, Nina, stop. I'm not taking advantage of you. This is a sensitive thing for you and I'm not about to do anything to you while you're drunk."
I've gotta stop this.
"But you're already so hard for me. You want it, too." She whispered in my ear.
Damn right do I want it.
But I can't do that to her.
I know she really doesn't want to do anything tonight, it's just the alcohol talking.
And I know she would regret it in the morning which I REALLY do not want happening.
"Nina, please. Not tonight. Let's just go to bed and save this for another night." I sighed.
She stopped her movements and moved to sitting next to me.
"You don't love me anymore. You hate me now that I've lost your baby. Don't worry, I would hate me, too."
Her voice was so small and weak as she looked down to her lap.
"No, princess. That's not true. I love you very, very much and I always will. Just because we lost our baby doesn't mean we can't try again."
"Just not tonight." I added quickly.
I grabbed her hand and ran my thumb over her knuckles.
"It's okay. I could never hate you."
She nodded before she got up and switched into her pajamas, with a little help from me.
I did the same but managed on my own.
When Nina was laying in bed, curled up in a tight ball, I hung my head low and turned the lights down, crawling into bed with her.
I plugged my phone in after Harry texted me back and said they'd be home soon.
Once I turned back to Nina, I could tell she was sobering up a little bit.
But even in the darkness, I could see the gloss covering her eyes and her lip quivering.
"Princess..." I breathed out, pulling her into my chest.
"I want a baby, Niall. I'm sick of all this pain. I want to have a baby with you so I could feel better."
Her tears fell onto my skin as I kissed her head softly.
"We're gonna have a baby. I promise you, Nina. I promise. You have to trust me, okay?"
She nodded and let out a sob, holding onto me tighter.
"It's okay. Shh, relax." I whispered against her skin. "Get some rest. I'll be here when you wake up."
When her cries decreased until they stopped completely, I sighed deeply, closing my eyes.
That was pure pain.
Nina's never sad when she's drunk.
She's in complete and utter pain because of this miscarriage.
If I had just been there!
I vowed to her that I'd always be there!
I just wish we would've known she was pregnant.
I mean, even before she told me about the miscarriage, I should've known not to push her like that.
Number one, we'd only made love once, and it was scary for her.
And number two, because I remembered that we made love before the accident, I should've pieced it together that she might've been pregnant.
All along when we would get close to doing it again, she would pull back.
She's scared again and I pushed her too far.
I've gotta get her pregnant again, when she's ready, and then she's gotta deliver the baby successfully in order for her confidence to be completely restored.
It's gotta happen.
"I love you so much, baby girl. Everything's gonna be okay. I'm here. I've got you. I'll never let you fall into the darkness again. I'd catch you and fall myself before I ever let you go. And I promise that." I whispered into Nina's ear, quiet enough so she wouldn't wake up.
I just want to save her again.

"N-Ni. Wake up. Please wake up."
Once I heard Nina whimpering, I opened my eyes and turned to her.
"Hey, beautiful. What's wrong?" I asked, running my fingers through her hair softly.
"Ow, ow. Stop, please."
She closed her eyes as a tear slipped out and down her cheek.
And the migraine begins.
"Okay, baby. I'm gonna go grab painkillers for you. Just relax." I whispered, not wanting to hurt her anymore.
I gently kissed her forehead and left the room.
I shook my head when I saw Louis passed out on the couch and Zayn on the floor.
I'd love to know how much they drank last night.
Walking past them, I grabbed one of my bags and took out all the medication I bring on tour.
After going through it, I grabbed the right pills and put everything else back.
I filled a glass with water and made my way back to Nina.
She opened her eyes slightly when she sensed my presence.
"The boys and I have a photoshoot a little later today. I'll let you rest and I'll come say goodbye if you're awake." I explained to her, keeping my voice low.
"Okay."
I walked over to the shades and closed them, eliminating some light.
Her migraine should be gone by about 3:00 pm.
They don't really last all that long.
But even though they're short, they still pack a punch to her.
"I love you, princess." I whispered, kissing her forehead once again.
She smiled the best she could and pressed her three fingers into my palm, unable to get any words out.
I let her be and closed the door behind me.
