Chapter 44

* Two Weeks Later *

~ Louis ~
"Dude, I'm freaking out. I can't do this." I said, pacing the floor of the dressing room.
It's just about time for the encore part of the show and I have to do something special at the very end of it.
"Yes, you can. You've already started so you have to finish." Harry said, trying to give me a little encouragement.
I really cannot do this.
I'm literally not cut out for doing this, especially in front of thousands of people.
Plus, it'll spread quickly.
Soon enough, the whole world will know.
Oh, no.
"Boys, back on stage in one minute."
My eyes widened.
This is really going to happen.
I have no choice and I can't turn back now.
"Mate, you're gonna be okay. Just get through the few songs and do it. It's gonna go smoothly." Niall said. "Trust me. You saw me when I was freaking out. Mine worked out, didn't it?"
He's got a point, I guess.
"No turning back now, man."
Liam walked by me and slid and small, square box into my pocket.
We followed him and grabbed our microphones before going out on stage again.
As soon as we got to the last couple seconds of Best Song Ever, I looked over to the side of the stage.
Jessica was sitting there, a smile on her face as she locked eyes with me.
Oh, gosh.
I can't do this.
Before I wanted it to, the song ended and the fans cheered loudly.
I looked at the boys and they nodded, so I spoke into my microphone.
"Um, hi, guys." The fans started to scream again. "Uh, I'd like to do a little something special tonight. But I sort of need my beautiful girlfriend to come out on stage. Jessica, can you come here?"
I met her eyes again and she looked so shocked and confused, but started walking towards me anyways.
The fans were so loud when she got on stage, and she came and held onto my hand.
"What's going on?" She asked me.
"Trust me." I whispered so only she could hear me.
I looked out to the fans and tried to convince myself that this would work.
I wouldn't be able to handle this much embarrassment if this doesn't work.
"I know that you are perfect for me. You make me a better person. I'm at my happiest when I'm with you. You always manage to bring a smile to my face when you walk into the room. You're absolutely beautiful. I know you may not see yourself as perfect, but I do. You're the best thing that has ever happened to me. And because of that, I'd like to know if you'll do the honors of becoming my wife. Jessica Lynn McCoy, will you marry me?"
I got down on one knee and pulled out the box, opening it up to reveal the beautiful ring.
Her hand flew up to her mouth and tears sprang in her eyes as the fans became louder and louder.
"Yes, yes, oh, yes!" Jess cried.
It took me a moment to process what she said but then I slipped the ring on her finger and stood up, pulling her in for a sweet kiss.
"I love you so much."
"I love you, too."
I guess I was worried about nothing.
She's my girl, and she'll soon become my wife.

~ Niall ~
I was insanely sweaty when I got off stage.
I need a shower when we get back to the hotel.
When I pulled out my phone, it started to vibrate.

NIALL OMG CALL ME!

What the hell?
With a confused look on my face, I dialed her up and walked out of the building with security.
"Niall! I can't believe you didn't tell me!"
"Tell you what?"
"Louis proposing! Why didn't anyone tell me? I'm so excited!"
I chuckled a little and got in the vehicle, starting the short ride back to the hotel.
"Sorry, baby. I just wanted to see what your reaction would be. And I'm pretty happy with it."
"This is so exciting. I'll see you when you get back, though."
"Alright. See you soon. Love you."
"Love you, too."
I hung up the phone and put it back in my pocket.
"See, Louis, it wasn't all that bad." I said.
He's literally had the biggest smile on his face ever since Jess said yes.
Nina's right, though; this is exciting.
Soon enough, Louis and Jess will be married, then Zayn and Perrie, Liam and Jenna, and then Harry and Emily.
That is, if all goes well.
Time has really flown by.
I mean, I'm married with a baby on the way.
It seems like just yesterday Katy Perry was sending me through to bootcamp.
I just think all the time that if she hadn't said yes, my life would never be complete.
I never would've found my princess.
My world would be completely different.
When we got back to the hotel, I said goodnight to the boys and Jess, also wishing her a safe flight home.
She's leaving early tomorrow morning and we go to a different state.
The tour's almost over, it was a really short one.
I walked into my room and found Nina sitting on the couch, a book in her hands.
"I'm back, baby." I announced, placing my guitar down.
I made my way over to her and kissed her forehead softly.
"Hi, sweetie. How was the show?" She asked, looking up from her book.
"It was good. Especially at the end."
"I still can't believe it. My brother is getting married. That means I'm going to be an auntie and you're going to be an uncle soon!"
She started to get excited and I laughed, taking my shoes off.
"I've gotta take a shower, princess. Wanna take one with me?" I smirked.
"You already impregnanted me; you don't need to do it again." She giggled.
"Oh, but I wish I could."
She rolled her eyes and I let her be and headed to the shower.

~ Jess ~
"Mom! Guess what happened tonight!" I exclaimed, talking with my step-mum on the phone.
I called my biological mum earlier and she was so excited for me.
"What happened, Jessica?"
"Louis proposed! We're getting married!" I squealed.
"Oh, honey! That's great! I'm so happy for you." She cheered.
"He brought me out on stage at the end of the show and said these beautiful words and the ring. Oh, the ring is perfect."
"I'm so glad you're happy, Jessica. How about when you get home, we go out for lunch and talk about this?" She suggested.
"Yeah, that sounds good. I'll see you soon."
"Bye, Jessica. Love you."
"Love you, too."
I hung up the phone and turned back to Louis.
"She excited?" He asked.
"Very. We're going out to lunch when I get back."
He laid back on the bed and pulled me with him, holding me close to him.
"That's nice, baby." He smiled.
"This is amazing, Louis. I'm so happy. After my last boyfriend, I never thought I'd have a happy ending. Especially with someone who treats me as well as you do."
"I'm glad I found you. You're the best thing that's ever happened to me."
"I love you, Louis." I whispered, kissing his jaw.
"I love you, too, my Jessica." He whispered back, kissing my lips softly.
I snuggled up to him, hearing his heart beat as we fell asleep.
