Chapter 33

~ Niall ~
When Nina and I walked inside our house, I could tell she was uncomfortable.
She stopped where she was and looked down at the floor.
This is going to be a slow adjustment for her, after I was gone, but I know she can do it.
We can do it.
"You okay?" I asked her.
"Yeah, I'm good. Just-Just taking my time, I guess."
I nodded as I understood and waited until she looked up and walked with me through the house.
I held her hand while my other hand held her bag of things that she took to Louis'.
She's officially back with me.
We walked to our room and I placed her bag down, going into my closet.
"First things first, I'm giving this back to you."
I handed her my Crazy Mofos shirt and she stared at it.
She was thinking about the day she left it here, leaving me.
"No, no I can't." She said, trying to hand it back to me.
"Keep it, Nina. It's okay."
She hesitantly took the shirt and hung it up in her closet.
I smiled, knowing that she was feeling a little better.
I almost wish she would've taken that shirt with her a month ago, but then again, I knew it might not have been a good idea.
Like, what if I never remembered?
Then she would've been stuck with that memory.
But then again, it might've comforted her.
I think she had my sweatshirt though, so I guess that makes up for it.
"Now, we need to pack for the tour. We leave tomorrow at around 5 pm." I said, going to my closet and grabbing my bags.
When I turned back around, Nina had a confused look on her face.
"Baby, we gotta pack."
"Yeah, I know, I know. I just was thrown off. Up until today, I wasn't going on tour with you guys."
Why the hell would she not be going on tour with us?
"I wouldn't want to be with you every second of the day if you didn't love me the way you used to." She said, reading my mind.
That actually hurts a lot.
I know how much Nina loves going on tour, and she wasn't gonna go because of me.
"But I'm going now. So it's all good." She smiled reassuringly.
She's right, just like always.
"C'mon now. Get that cute bum packing."
She shook her bum a little, laughing a little and grabbing her bag out of the closet.
God, I love her.
She's the cutest thing ever.
I can't believe she's all mine.
I don't deserve her.
She's perfect in every single way and I want her to know that every single day.
"Niall?"
"What's up, princess?"
She hesitated and when I turned around to look at her, her gaze was on the ground.
"When you were explaining your encounter with my mum, you-you said you felt like her fingertips burning into your back. Do you-do you think...?"
Holy shit.
She's right.
Maybe the burns left a mark.
Quickly, I tore off my shirt and turned around while Nina rushed up to me.
Her fingers gently ran over my back until she landed on one spot, in the middle of my shoulder blades.
"It-It's...oh my god."
Nina's voice faded out as her fingertips left my body.
Shit.
I turned around quickly and caught her before she collapsed on the ground.
I placed her head in my lap and stroked her cheek as we sat on the bed.
"Calm down. Calm down, baby. Relax. What did you see?" I asked calmly.
"You-Your back. It was-there were three marks. They were light brown, barely noticeable. They looked like fingertips, Niall."
This can't be real.
Her mother couldn't have left a mark on me.
Nina tried to sit up, but she was still a little dizzy so I lifted her head up and laid it on the bed softly.
I got up and walked over to the mirror slowly.
This is so creepy, I sort of almost don't want to turn around.
But I do.
And when I look in the mirror, I see three light brown marks on my back.
I looked away quickly, goosebumps spreading all over my skin.
Nina's mum left a mark on me.
How is that possible?
It's not.
No, it can't be.
"Ni, baby. This can't be real."
"It's real."
Nina's eyes went wide and her breathing became short and scattered.
I quickly made my way back over to her, pulling her small frame into my lap.
"Breathe, Nina. You have to breathe."
I shouldn't have told her this story so soon.
She's had so many anxiety attacks lately.
She was trembling, starting to cry heavily.
"It's okay, baby. Everything is okay. I'm here." I whispered, rocking her lightly.
She screamed and I held her closer to my body.
I kissed her tears, my lips now glimmering from them reflecting the light.
"You're safe. It's okay. I'm here. Breathe, baby girl. Deep breaths, like this."
I breathed with her, trying to help her, and she looked into my eyes.
I cradled her in my arms, rocking her and stroking her cheek, before moving my hand to her stomach, tapping lightly on the exposed skin.
"Niall!" She sobbed. "Help me! I need you!"
She was a mess and I started crying.
"Look at me, Nina. I-I'm here."
She looked back at me, after looking away.
"It's okay. Look in my eyes. You're safe in my arms." I whispered.
Her breathing was starting to go back to normal and her heart was slowing down.
I ran my fingertips over her cheek, kissing her temple.
When she was breathing normally again, she wrapped her arms around me, hugging me tight.
She sat in my lap while I rubbed her back, hoping to soothe her.
She sobbed into my shoulder, tears soaking my shirt.
Soon, her sobs faded into cries before they stopped completely.
She pulled back and looked at me again.
"You okay?" I asked.
"Why does this happen to me? I've been having so many anxiety attacks."
"I know, I know it sucks. But I'm here for you. I'll help you get through it. You're never alone."
I pressed my lips to hers, moving them slowly and gently.
"Thank you."
"Anything for you, baby girl."
I thought Nina was actually getting better.
But with her mum and everything, that triggered a lot.
I held her for a few more minutes until she sighed deeply.
"So it's real?" She asked.
"It's real, baby girl. Isn't that cool?" I asked, trying to raise her happiness.
"It is. But that's my mum. You actually met. I've wanted for so long for you two to meet. I knew it was never possible. I guess I was wrong."
It's amazing that I've met her mother.
Maybe not in good circumstances, but we've still met.
I lifted up Nina's chin before pressing my lips to hers, moving them slowly.
My hands roamed her body, tracing her curves.
She moaned into my mouth as I squeezed her breasts a little.
"Ohh." She gasped, tangling her fingers in my hair.
My lips trailed down her neck and to her chest before they moved back to her mouth, kissing hungrily.
"You're so good, baby. Fuck, I want you." I groaned.
Nina tensed up before she pulled away, catching her breath.
"We've gotta pack, Niall. C'mon." She said quietly, climbing off of me.
What's wrong?
I sat confused for a moment, until I started packing again.
