CHAPTER 67
"The long wait is over! Today, ipinamalas ng mga teams ang kanilang bench cheering talent sa buong gymnasium na ito. Sino kaya sa mga teams na naririto ang may panikamalakas na ingay, angas at dating sa pagsigaw? Handa na ba kayong malaman kung sino ang nagwagi?" Excited na sigaw ng MC sa unahan.
The pounding of the drums filled the gymnasium with an intense aura. All of the teams are eager to find out who will win the bench cheering competition, so they continue to shout their team name and color.
Ako naman ay nakaupo lang sa upuan dito sa stage at pinapanood ang walang humpay na pagsigaw ng mga estudyante. This is the final event competition for each team, followed by an awarding ceremony for the winners. In the evening, meron namang party na magaganap at magkakaroon ng performances na inihanda ang mga outstanding performers ng university.
This week is almost over, and the event is coming to a close. Every year, this is what college students look forward to. A time when they are free from work to enjoy the event. Mr. and Ms. competition, sports competition up to the bench cheering competition, the tension remained constant. They're all fired up and ready to take home the trophy.
"The winner in the category of bench cheering competition is, Blue Eagle Extravaganza!" Sigaw ng MC at agad na nagsigawan at nagtalunan ang nasa gawi ng blue team.
I clapped my hand to congratulate them but it is not yet the final winner kaya natahimik muli ang mga nasa loob. The flow of the awarding ceremony continued and it consumed a lot of time calling all the winners from every category.
"And now, garnering an overall 346 points in all the categories. The final winner of this year is none other than," the MC stopped talking and the drum rolls again.
"I'd like to thank Ms. Arilla for attending and participating in this event. Ma'am, you are always welcome here. And it is our pleasure to welcome Mr. Helffrich, the beloved owner of Enwa State University, who has made time to watch this moment." I nodded and smiled after hearing my name at nagpalakpakan naman ang mga tao. Ang mga estudyante naman ay nagrereklamo at binitin sila ng MC sa kung sino na ang nanalo.
"The winner is," the MC shouted. "The Violet Raven Revengers! Congratulations! Please come to the stage and claim your trohpy." He said kaya tumayo na kaming mga narito sa stage para pumwesto at salubungin ang kukuhanan ng litrato. Ang buong team ng Violet Raven.
"Congratulations." I told one of the male professors at natuwa naman siyang nakipagkamay sa akin.
The event came to an end, but the party began three hours later. I barely rested dahil dumeretso na agad ako rito after changing my clothes.
