CHAPTER 63
"How's it going, Engineer Reyes?" I asked as soon as makarating kami ni Rain sa site.
"Everything is fine, Mr. Helffrich." Bungad ni Engineer Reyes at nakipagkamay. "The goods were shipped securely and on time, and there was plenty of money left over for other purposes."
"Ah, I see." I gave a nod. I'm well aware that money isn't an issue, particularly when it comes from the palace.
"Do you have any issues with the construction?" While looking at some of the materials na gagamitin soon, I asked again.
"Mr. Helffrich, there are none at the moment. As soon as we come across one, we'll keep you updated." He gave me reassurance.
We left the site after inspecting everything and told Rain to return to the office because I'll be attending classes in the afternoon and she won't be able to accompany me.
"Dismiss! The deadline is next month!" The professor told us and then exited the room.
"Wooh, plates na naman!" Before taking his belongings, Ryan screamed and stretched both arms up. "Dude, ayos ka lang?" When his eyes met mine at lumapit sa akin, he asked.
I nodded at sumabay sa kanya papalabas ng pinto. "I'm fine. Ryan, keep an eye out for yourself." I smirked.
. He laughed then shook his head. "We understand how difficult it is for you to balance your studies and handle this university. Make sure to rest, pare." Before saying his goodbyes and leaving, he tapped my shoulder twice.
Before leaving the university, I completed some paperwork in the office that was due tomorrow, but I fell asleep until the evening.
"Damn." I cursed to myself and sprang from my seat, leaving the office a complete mess.
"Ser, ginabi na ho kayo ah." Sabi ng guwardiya na naglilibot at nagbabantay sa loob.
He's looking around inside the building with a flashlight, checking to see if someone is still inside.
"Night shift ba ulit?" Tanong ko sa kanya.
"Opo ser, nakipagpalit ho ulit ako ng oras ng duty doon sa isa kong kasamahan." Paliwanag niya at ngumiti.
"Goodwork!" I told him at nagpaalam na.
Habang nilalandas ko ang daan patungong parking lot, I seemed to have an idea, and it led me to the place where I normally kill time. It is where my father designed and constructed the space for me.
I chose to walk to the path na hindi madalas daanan ng mga estudyante at doon pumasok.
"How long has it been since I've been in this room?" I questioned myself.
I believe the last time I was here was three years ago, the day before the party. I let out a long sigh.
Everything looks clean here.
