CHAPTER 68
"How did the construction go? Did they find the culprit?" I spoke as soon as I walked into my office.
"There aren't any hints yet, sir." Umiling na sagot ni Rain.
We were able to cover the problem by resuming the university's one-week founding celebration, but we're back at it again. We're still working on it, and I'm doing everything I can to keep the issue from becoming public.
Last week, I received a call from Engineer Reyes. I immediately called Rain to see what was going on at the site. "Sir, nabagsakan po ng bakal ang ilan sa workers na nagtratrabaho sa site, badly injured." Rain explained as soon as I arrived at the location.
"What caused it to happen?" With my brow furrowed, I inquired. We went inside the unfinished building to investigate what happened in the area where the accident occurred."Three workers were critically injured when the scaffolding collapsed. Napuruhan sila dahil sila ang nasa baba." Engr. Reyes informed me with a troubled expression. "Kamusta sila?" I asked him.
"We got them to the hospital so they could be treated for their injuries." Paliwanag niya at kinakabahang tumingin sa akin. "We also informed their families of the situation. It will not be long na manghihingi sila ng explanation sa nangyari." Dagdag niya.
"Tch." I expelled a large amount of air and calmed myself so I could think of a possible solution.
"I'm sorry, sir! However, before we use the scaffolding, we ensured that it is stable." Paliwanag niya sa akin which caused me to sigh once more before facing Rain, who was already waiting for my orders.
"Call the security chief and tell him to check all of the CCTV cameras inside the university." I informed her, and she gave me a nod before making a phone call.
While we waited for Rain to return, we scanned the entire floor to see if there was any evidence we could obtain. "Sir," Rain said from behind me.
"Is there any news?" I inquired, but instead of responding, she handed me her tab, which showed a video of five men in black sneaking and later jumping off the university's wall. "When did this happen?" Kunot noo kong tanong kay Rain.
"According to the head security, it's around 3:35 a.m." She stated. I nodded and handed her the tab back.
"We can't let that go. Because this is a serious matter, I'd like you to find the culprit as soon as possible." "And you," harap ko kay Engr. "Continue with your operations. We don't want it to get to the media, let alone the palace. Do you get it?"
