CHAPTER 69
"May problema ba, Eze?" Tanong ni Cerca. We are currently in our home's dining area at kumakain ng hapunan. Tahimik lang kami buong oras at tanging tunog lang ng aming kutsara't tinidor na kumikiskis sa aming mga plato ang naririnig.
Kauuwi ko lang din kanina pagkatapos kong tumigil ng saglit sa Park Plaza. Hindi pa rin mawala sa isip ko ang nangyari noong mga oras na iyon at paulit-ulit na napapanood sa utak ang papalayong bulto ni Yna at March kasama si Raver sa park. They really look like a happy family.
I didn't look at Cerca, but in response to her question, I shook my head sideways. After a few moments, I finished my dinner first kaya agad na rin akong tumayo at tumungo sa aking kwarto para ibaba ang gamit and take a quick shower.
I wasn't able to finish my plates today because I was preoccupied with the construction accident. For the time being, I need to make progress and finish the plates in my drawing table before the end of the month.
The next day, I arrived at the university early once more. There's a general assembly for students and teachers today because it is Monday morning. I'm not going, but I came early to avoid the crowd and walk around the school ground in peace. This is also how I check to see if the school staff is doing their jobs properly
Wala pa gaanong students kung tutuosin. Only the university employees are wandering around, preparing for the assembly. Some are cleaning, while others are repairing what needs to be repaired. Teachers are gathering for a small meeting before the assembly, and the rest are students who always arrive early.
I was about to enter the building when someone approached me from behind. "Good day, Mr. Helffrich!" When I turn around, Yna is smiling and waving her hands slightly. Tipid lang akong ngumiti. I'm no longer surprised to see her this early in the morning. "Good morning," Bati ko pabalik. "Ezekiel is fine."
Ilang saglit pa kaming nagkatitigan. When she speaks to me, she comes across as completely natural. She's also aware that I've been who I am since we met. I mean, she already knew what position I have in this university, even if she was a transferee. She may appear to be hiding something because of how mysterious she is or because she resembles the one I love. I don't want to have any regrets, so I'm preventing myself from falling for her.
"Isn't it fine to call you Zeke?" With a smile, she asked. Natulala naman ako ng kaniyang sinabi. I was just making a comparison, but she's completely perplexing me. Perhaps it's okay to believe that you and her are the same person. I guess I just need one more clue and I'll be convinced you're her. "May I hug you?" Bigla ay naitanong ko sa kanya. Before reacting, she blinked twice. "Eh?" Gulat niyang turan. "Yeah... sure..." She responded with an awkward laugh.
I moved closer to her and looked her in the eyes to see what she thought, but she stiffened as she waited for me to hug her. Is it okay if I hug her? She appears to be on the verge of collapsing.
Oh, yes. She already has a son and a husband. Ezekiel, ang tanga mo! After remembering that, I bit my lower lip. "It's okay," I said as I came to a halt. "I'm not going to continue." Sabi ko at bumuntong hininga.
You're out of your mind, Ezekiel!
"No, no, it's alright!" Nag-pa-panic niyang sabi na mukhang nakagawa siya ng mali sa kanyang naging kilos kaya imbes na ako ang yumakap ay siya ang yumakap sa akin ng mahigpit kaya ako naman ang natigilan.
