For their first lesson, Tiff suggested they'd start drawing. She said that colouring was important for the mind, for it allowed all thoughts to relax and focus on the specific task.

She asked Tails once he awoke if they could borrow his art supplies. The yellow fox agreed happily, although he seemed puzzled when Tiff politely requested the three Dreamlanders be left alone. The mobian didn't ask why, and instead left them with their desired privacy, relieving Tiff from having to explain why they needed to be alone.

Amy had peered at them curiously, but she didn't inquire as Tails led them to his backyard. Meta Knight was thankful that the fox was considerate and hadn't kept them in a tight room, where the air would soon get thick with home sickness and fear. Tails, seeing the stressed look on Tiff's face, probably thought that they needed someplace peaceful.

And so it was decided. Meta Knight, one of the strongest warriors in the galaxy, was drawing with two young children, in which one of them was only a baby.

He couldn't help but feel his face flush with embarrassment as he picked up a red crayon and scribbled onto his paper. After all, he was a Star Warrior! They weren't exactly known for taking a break and relaxing.

And yet, as Meta Knight glanced over to his son, he could see that Kirby looked like he was enjoying the quiet activity. He remained silent as he scooped up a bunch of yellows from their pile of crayons and started applying them to his drawing.

This is what he needs, Meta Knight realized, his eyes flickering with interest as he watched Kirby draw. He seemed to be fully invested with his drawing, for he didn't acknowledge Meta Knight's presence as he sidled up to the pink warrior and took a few of his blacks and whites. Perhaps this is what all Star Warriors need, now that the age of trauma is over.

Being born blind, Meta Knight was never interested in drawing. He detested the activity, branding it as another way of life taunting him, telling him that he would always be incapable as a warrior. And yet, he had become one of the strongest warriors in the GSA by the time he was granted the gift to see.

I never gave drawing a chance. But I could have, just as I did with Kirby. I thought life was being unfair with me when I was born without sight, and yet, it seems as if I was the inflicting that unfairness and harbouring it so I could feel sorry for myself. Meta Knight sighed. How selfish I was.

"What are you drawing, Meta Knight?" Tiff asked after a few minutes of continuing tranquility. The cappy had stains of colour on her fingers, as if she had been rubbing the colours of the crayons onto her paper. In front of her was her sketch, which resembled a giant emerald. After a while Meta Knight understood it as the Master Emerald.

Meta Knight handed over his drawing to her. "My mother and father," he explained. Tiff nodded in understanding. He had told her about their death, and she seemed saddened by the news of their passing.

Compared to hers, Meta Knight's drawing looked like a complete mess of colours. Of course, there was always the excuse that he had never drawn properly in his life. But he found that that still didn't justify his poor art skills.

"It looks really nice," Tiff whispered sincerely, a soft smile dancing on her lips. Meta Knight couldn't help but chuckle at her honesty.

She handed back his paper, where he had drawn two blobs- one black, one magenta- with one of them having butterfly-like wings while the other sported angelic wings. The couple were holding hands, their mouths curving into happy grins as they gazed into each others eyes.
