Hi all!
"A double upload so soon? Suspicious..." you may be wondering.
Well, it's true! A double upload within the time span of a week! Isn't that just exciting? :D
But don't get too comfortable! I was just lucky enough to have time to work on another chapter. Don't expect double uploads often!
-Much love, Yokai

Within the gloomy forest of Sonic's mind, Gooey was in a state turmoil. He was a mess between confused, confused, and confused, which made him confused. The blob slumped forward, groaning...
...And landed in the center of a thick puddle of mud.
Right. Keep forgetting this place is super gross and scary now. Gooey forced himself up with a heave, his dark blue body coated in cold, dirty brown muck. I liked it better when it was happy and bright. He attempted to clean himself by licking off the grime, but immediately regretted it as he recoiled, gagging at the sour taste.
Ew! Not tasty, not tasty! He desperately tried to shake the mud off his tongue, but the taste still lingered, feeling gross and slimy in his mouth. He gagged again, his body convulsing. Okay: simple! I won't do it again! That was a terrible mistake!
At least his headache of utter confusion had lessened to a small degree. He sighed, finding shelter underneath a sagging cypress tree. The bark smelled rotten and stank of decay, and Gooey couldn't help but wish for 'The Field of Endless Running', where the grass had been clean and the sun shined brightly over his head. Now, he was stuck traversing in a stinky, filthy swamp.
It was a sign that Sonic's mind was slowly descending into madness.
Gooey tried desperately to block his connection with Sonic to keep him from manipulating his powers, but the blue hedgehog always seemed to accidentally use them anyway. Gooey knew that the hero wasn't trying to use his powers, and was mostly unaware he even was in the first place. In fact, Sonic seemed disgusted at the mere thought of borrowing Gooey's power.
Poor Sonic. He doesn't want to hurt anyone. Gooey frowned, looking up at the red sky. It was the colour of deep crimson- otherwise known as the colour of blood. I wonder how it feels, to be in his shoes.
Poor Shadow. He's worried about Sonic.
Poor Egg-scientist-with-twigs-for-arms. He's being used by our leader.
Poor Kirby. Egg-scientist-with-twigs-for-arms is trying to catch him.
Gooey stopped, freezing upon Kirby's name.
Kirby, he repeated slowly, mouthing the name silently. Something about the name was familiar, as if he'd heard about it outside of his place in Sonic's consciousness. It was also the cause of his massive confusion headache just a few moments before.
"Kirby. He seems so familiar to me, but I still don't know why," Gooey muttered, closing his eyes tightly. He was desperately trying to remember if Sonic had once met a friend named Kirby, but none came to mind. "And it feels like I know him, not Sonic."
It was weird, for a name to be so recognizable, despite Gooey never meeting Kirby personally. And it wasn't only the pink puffball, either. It was with the other two Dreamlanders, Meta Knight and King Dedede.
