Shigeru POV:

Jessica does a super hop right over the fence and lands with a grin on the other side. I loudly whisper to her, "Jess stop! You will wake up people! Are you hurt?" Jess looks up at me from the ground and smiles.

"Yep! I cut my arm pretty nasty. Wow! Fences are dangerous!" She cheers. I cant help but laugh at this. Jessica is very smart, but pretty reckless when danger is a factor in her descion making. I walk over to her and tell her "Here, I'll bandage that up. I don't want you to drip blood all over your rainbow crocs."

Jessica sticks her arm out in my direction and I carefully place a bandage on. It's a good thing we decided to bring everything with us! At the rate of bandages we are already using, its a miracle we are not already filled with cuts.

Jessica stands up and brushes the snow off of her overalls. She says to me "Before we go, I need to do one thing," She slowly walks over to the fence and duck tapes a small sign up. The sign reads, "Shigeru and I went to go scavenge more wood. The others have been scavenging more than us and we need to get ahead. Def not gonna fight goblins ;)"

After straightening out the sign, Jess takes her crocs off, and puts them back on with the sole down. Mightily, she exclaims, "With my adventure soles™, this adventure has officially begun!" With a new profound beat of energy, Jessica and I happily march onward ready for anything!

* * * * *

Its been two hours of walking in the frost and I am literaly going to die. Did I think that I was ready for anything? Well I wasn't prepared for walking. I've always hated walking, especially in bad weather. Back in Japan where I lived, we went on walks all the time. This is one reason I like America. No one expects you to be fit as much.

Jessica and I are staying pretty much to ourselves, only talking about clues to finding something. It's not that we don't want to talk to each other, we're just far too tired. However, we reach the entrance to the old better buy store. We sneak in the back and find the same garage door we used to get in. The hole from before is still there waiting for us.

Jessica crawls in first. I cringe when I see the claw marks indented into the metal. The marks embody the agony of that dreadful day. I craw under anyway to find the same store we left behind. Only, its not exactly the same.

Time has done its work on this poor store. Fine cracks run through the walls. Things lay scattered everywhere. Damage is still very present from the bloody battle. I wonder how the rest of the town is after seeing this. The goblins must have barely even touched this place compared to the rest of the town since this building is far away.

Jessica says, "Let's fan out and look for clues. Also to make sure this place is really empty. It's late, but we need to do this first." I agree with her. Besides, it doesn't matter how late it is. We're teenagers now. We're used to having no sleep and poor mental health. We begin to wander and survey the store. The massive technology fort Bobby Sr. made is still there, only collapsed since it was poorly made. But withing the rubble of broken technology, I find an Ybox that hasn't had much damage.

The Ybox is sitting in the center of the pile. The skylight illuminates the old device like a beacon of hope. I think to myself, No. McHenry County isn't dead yet. This store may be broken, but Yboxes will survive along with our spirit!

Jessica shouts, "Hey, I found something!" I run over to where she was. In the small room by the garage door Jessica holds up a shiny weapon. I examine it closer. It's a dirt sifter. The same exact on Martin had. Jessica begins to softly sob. The dirt sifter has a thing layer of some dark dry substance on it. Like it was soaked in blood long ago. Under the grime is the carves out letters D E B R A.

I lead Jessica over to a corner in the store. She hugs me and let's it all out. Eventually, I cry with her. We do this until we eventually fall asleep. All of the sorrow begins to disapear.
