Chapter 24: Inside the Fairy Ice Castle [S2]

I've never seen anyone as sad as I saw Farmer Bernadette. The sounds of a parents sorrow is horrible. After many hours of painful mourning, Shigeru has woken up and Bobby Sr., who was in the same cell as Farmer Bernadette, explained all they knew about this prison.

Farmer Bernadette and Bobby Sr. have been held captive here for a year. They acquire food and other resources from the goblins and have been trying to escape. Sadly, that's all they know. I also explained to them what has happened since Bobby Sr. was taken. He seemed very happy to find out his son was hanging on.

Now its just silence. We are all waiting, but we don't know what for. We'd always assumed that the goblins kill people, but it seems that they just take people to their prison. I see a green figure in black armor approach us. I immediately stiffen up and grip onto my bookbag with Futoi-chan still safe inside.

The guard stands right infront of our cell and bellows, "You two are comming with me!" I try to think of a way out but I don't see one. Bernadette yells, "No! Take us instead! We've been here far longer! We taste much better!"

The goblin gives Bernadette a disgusted look, "Sorry human lady. But I have a girlfriend and I do not fall for love traps!" The goblin says as he nudges for us to follow him. I decide to obey since we have no other option. Shigeru rises too. But before we leave, I put my backpack on so I could keep Futoi-Chan safe and close. The guard snarls at me, "Nuh-uh! No backpacks allowed!"

I quiver, "Bu-but..." Shigeru butts in for me, "Please, she is woman. She needs woman things." The guard looks to me. I answer, "Y-yes! Tampons! I have pounds and pounds of tampons I need in here!" The guard looks away embarrassed, "Whatever. Weird humans. Just come with me."

We respectfully follow the guard down many long icy tunnels. This place is like a maze. I shoot Shigeru worried looks as we walk. We share the same fear. Soon, our not pleasant stroll is put to an end when we enter through two big wooden doors. The room we enter is a giant ice palace if I'd ever seen one!

We are directed to the center of the room an we see two thrones made of cold. Ontop of the thrones is a strange looking man with dark hair and an even darker coat. Sitting next to him is a strange pointy-looking woman with high cheekbones. Her cheekbones look like they could cause a flat tire if she was run over the right way.

The man on the throne bellows, "My children! Bow before me!" Shigeru shouts something in Japanese. I just stand confused by it all. He continues, my children. Do you not know who I am?"

Shigeru and I stare at him blankly. The man sighs and says, "Wow. I thought your little buddy would have told you. Well, you can call me Mr. Taws for now. I promise that I'm a gracious host!"

I'm completely lost. I shout to him, "Who are you? Why are we here?" Mr. Taws smiles a sinister smile as the woman by him sits boredly. He continues, "My dear children. Can you not show some respect to your new king? Can you not admire my giant castle? Go ahead. Worship me!"

I don't know what to say to his cocky expressions. I look around me. I admit, "Well, your palace looks an awful lot like a fairy princess castle!" Shigeru starts laughing like. He joins in by taunting him, "Fairy snow princess! Fairy snow princess!"

Mr. Taws face turns red. He yells, "WHO EVER TAUGHT CHILDREN TO BE SO DISREPECTFUL!" He takes a deep breathe and continues sweetly, "Now look children. I will give you your fairy princess things and your human foods but first I need to know one little, Itty bitty, tiny thing." He clears his throat, "WHERE IS MARTIN?"
